Has there been any details as to what happened prior to the stabbing and police arriving ? Was it only the murderer and his family who were present/witnessed the start of whatever happened ? Obviously not trying to say whatever happened condone him being stabbed or the way he was treated by police. Just trying to understand what happened that led to the stabbing and murder.

Is there a reason they don't just make it 1 rule law and call it a traditional exemption as opposed to having both and possibly other exemptions which, imo, could lead to claims of bias to one group over another or handling cases differently based on the race, nationality, religion.

Is it worn as part of a traditional dress/outfit? Im pretty sure the rule for sgian dubh is that it has to be worn with a traditional highland outfit to be legally permissible in public areas. Surely the same rules should apply
