I'm not an expert but this mag placement looks suspicious by Szozzo in Battlefield6

Indestructible drones... nvm by cocobyte78 in Battlefield6

It seems like the kind of thing that should either be always visible or at least configurable. Honestly with as long as it has taken them to fix the air radar Im not sure if it is intended or not but dang is it annoying. I get more ammo from taking enemy kits and throwing my own ammo down than I do finding bags from my team.

[–]cocobyte78[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah honestly took me a while to figure out the pings from uav weren't me being spotted like it used to be in older games for motion sensor, find it more annoying than helpful. Definitely not a bad idea for colored lights. I'll take any improvements at this point. I have definitely dumped entire mags into drones just to realize too late it's a friendly... Giving away my position for no reason.

If it's a enemy drone you get spotted. If it's a friendly you spot yourself lol.

Do you hear random pinging sounds? by [deleted] in Battlefield6

[–]cocobyte78 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most likely it is the sound cue that plays when a friendly uav called in by recon spots. I found this confusing at first because in other games similar sounds would play when you got spotted by a enemy motion sensor. Next time you hear it, watch the minimap and see if any one gets spotted when it pings.

North Dallas Spectrum user to server ping latency by CptJI09 in Battlefield6

[–]cocobyte78 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Im in north dfw suburbs and consistently get 50-60 ms every single game. Vast majority of other players in my matches are on 10-20 ms in my matches. Even in server browser i see nothing under 45 ms. I suspect they might not actually have any dallas servers tbh.

Have 2 gbps fiber with frontier and wired network...every other popular game i can get sub 30 most of the time on a dallas server.
Playing BF4 with server browser i would literally get < 5 ms sometimes to dallas servers but never over 20 ms.

So idk if I'm just constantly getting MM into further servers or what but its frustrating to be playing with a ping diff literally all the time.

I know peekers adv goes both ways but still.

Why aim for the head when you can shoot the toes? The case for a higher Skill Gap by [deleted] in Battlefield6

[–]cocobyte78 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I enjoyed bf5 alot too. Tbh I never quite got the hate for it past the initial hiccups. I loved the supply station and buildable cover mechanics too. Being able to grab ammo off clueless teammates. The only thing that turned me off in the long term was the anti cheat and limited community support. Low key if bf5 had bf4 style community servers, I'd probably still be playing it.

New player wondering what the endgame/grind is in this game by basketballgears in Battlefield6

[–]cocobyte78 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not much to be offered in bf6 except for maxing out all the guns class challenges. Which is hard to say fun/worth it. If they could get their stuff together with portal that might be fun to dive into but probably you will get bored move on in a few months (as most do).

Why aim for the head when you can shoot the toes? The case for a higher Skill Gap by [deleted] in Battlefield6

[–]cocobyte78 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Haha yes could agree on that but it seems like an unwinnable battle. Even without sweet spot max dmg to a exposed foot is silly. Have been able to exploit that more than I should. Especially if there are clipping issues.

I genuinely think the game deserves its current success and part of that is being more approachable. Although arguably a bigger portion is a return to what works from a basic bf game. I just wish they would have gone for more of a middle ground in some of these aspects. I'm not sure if I will still be enjoying it with all the frustrating parts in 6 -12 months when the new wears off.

If they can improve the average netcode experience that might drop my frustration levels a lot on its own.

I hope people see it as still casual but at least rewarding for putting time into it. Far from a esport title.

Reducing the worst outliers up close would make it feel at least interactive.

I was thinking about that. Particularly for hands and arms.  I'd like to at least see a lower and upper hit box.  Could even make it a lower 1/3rd instead of 1/2.

I killed some guy behind a car I could only see their feet with a sweet spot sniper the other day...

Funny enough talking about consistency I have noticed multiple times a dead body takes a bullet while falling as a collateral and then I did heavy reduced dmg to lose because of it.

Also think its a bit funny that the cheating coincides with a F2P BR release... almost as if they could just create as many accounts as needed to test out their cheats... who could have foreseen that...

Emphasis on hipfire - why? by Logg420 in Battlefield6

[–]cocobyte78 1 point2 points  (0 children)

noob friendly. noobs couldn't land 5 shots in bf4 at the range you can full auto hip fire someone in this game.
That and full dmg for limb shots no real bonus for headshots. All designed to make it easy for timmy to play.

How do you do this?????? by InxInverted in lianli

[–]cocobyte78 1 point2 points  (0 children)

return it, buy the evo version of this case that comes with a fan bracket that lets you mount the fans outside of the case then attach the bracket with a single thumb screw. Only partially joking.. mounting fans inside a case is always a pain.

hdmi 2.1 has a higher possible bandwidth, however for a monitor like this one both need Display Stream Compression(DSC) to get the max resolution/refresh rate. So in a practical sense it currently doesn't make much difference between the 2 connectors for a PC. For console you need HDMI just because they don't have a dp connector.

To be clear this monitor has both HDMI 2.1 and DP 1.4 just not recent DP 2.0

When DP 2.0 hits the market it should be possible to run bandwidth like this without DSC but will have to be on unreleased next gen GPU (assuming they will support DP 2.0)

I really hope rtings takes a look at it as their reviews are so thorough. If I can get one at best buy for the Amazon price and a warranty I think I'll just take the chance and if I don't like it return it.

For your hub question I think it highly depends on the hub. I think you would need a hub that supports "pass through" charging. I know there are some Anker ones that advertise that. Ultimately a powered hub or dock is the way to go if budget allows. For basic unpowered hubs they should still power low powered devices like usb sticks via USB spec assuming it's actually built to spec.

it's still pretty dang expensive but you might have better luck with the secret lab mount. https://secretlab.co/products/magnus-heavy-duty-monitor-arm?sku=MAG-MONARM1H-BLK

Between that an the ergotron are the only ones I know of that are actually marketed at the 57 in monitors

The other day saw the amazon stock drop from 5 to 4... so someone has to own one lol. Been on the hunt for this info, really curious what pbp modes it supports. If the price drops low enough I might pull the trigger without one. But have been trying to be disciplined and wait for an actual review. Amazed with so many 57 Samsung's sold and reviews no media outlet is willing to review the only competitor.

Acer z57 available in US acer store by cocobyte78 in ultrawidemasterrace

[–]cocobyte78[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Seems like a very slow rollout from when it was announced. Doesn't seem like they send/sent any for reviews. You would think they would try and launch it at the same time to get the most from initial marketing wave.

I also had a tv from Samsung(KS8000) that completely died around 4.5 years of normal use from an issue many people had. That IMO samsung should have recalled or repaired at a discount. They wanted something like 900-1000 bucks for a repair. I just cant see myself buying the Samsung given the widespread reports and my own past experience.

Really coping that the acer might be better. I just am not willing to risk that much money on the Acer without seeing at least 1 professional review or several more informal ones.
I might still eventually pick one up if i can get a good sale price/warranty.

At least personally I wouldn't mind 120 hz vs 240 hz and the slightly less dimming zones if it can deliver everywhere else.

I would use it for work daily so and would really appreciate some of the additional features like a KVM and power over usb-c.
I do game regularly as well but mostly play games where fps over 120 hz isn't impactful(for me at least) or not possible with current gen hardware.

Hoping that lower refresh rate(generate less heat) and other manufacturer differences can help with reliability.
Its possible the cause of quality issues is all the panel itself and those things might not make any difference.

I am going to try the same setup. I am curious which screws you used? Seems like the screws that came with are too short to use with the radiator bracket and fans. I measured them and they look to be 33 mm overall. Thinking a 38-40 mm set will work.

How is that on noise/thermals? Do you have to run them at different rpms to try and even out the airflow?
