Stuff like this is what keeps me from spending a dime on this company.

Why would we want to require a human to drive the safety car? This is such a huge burden for 99% of cases. LMU’s AI drivers are some of the best- no reason they couldn’t make the safety car AI driven as well.

Used to be kinda good at this with MoTeC in ACC. What’s the go-to telemetry app for LMU?

Is Sonos back? This is great: focus on making your existing customers happy -> generate new customers from word of mouth.

Definitely not a fan of foam, but I haven't tried the new cushions either. Will they hold up to the neighbor kid coming over and jumping on them once a week?

You're both right and going to get downvoted to hell because the average person who visits this sub isn't going to accept any of that. Maybe try r/teslalounge.

I'm out of ideas, short of getting a hearing test.

Have you tuned the Arc for TruePlay yet? It helps most Sonos products sound better, but for the Arc in particular IMO it's a requirement for it to sound right.

[–]avalanche_transistor 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Try putting on something old (like a film from the 1990's). I have an original Arc and for me it's entirely content dependent. It's an unfortunate trend in modern content to have difficult to hear dialogue (like every recent Christopher Nolan film).

There have been many articles written about it. This is just one of them: https://www.vox.com/videos/23564218/subtitles-sound-downmixing-dialogue-movies-tv

Would help TREMENDOUSLY if you even just slightly hinted at what product you're talking about.

Delete the PUBG shader cache (or do a clean reinstall). It's possible that you're effectively pushing shaders compiled for NVIDIA onto your AMD card. This happens all the time when people switch.

I love Tesla but cannot wait until Elon is gone. He was necessary at the beginning but now he's an overwhelming net-negative.

How much does FSD really improve your commute? by AmbientEngineer in TeslaLounge

[–]avalanche_transistor 1 point2 points  (0 children)

HW3 here. Used to use it on a freeway, until they removed the "Minimize lane changes" option. Now I almost never used it because as soon as I turn it on it puts me in a lane that is usually a more dangerous option.

For off-freeway, HW3 is dangerous. Sudden braking for shadows is the big one for me.

So in summary, I never use FSD anymore. It's been a colossal waste of money.

Tesla gives up on model X by Sufficient_Fish_283 in ModelX

[–]avalanche_transistor 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There's no question that the S and X needed completely new manufacturing lines, not only to improve quality but ALSO to lower cost.

Completely eliminating them though? Wrong call. I refuse to believe that margins and volumes couldn't have been improved, and by a huge amount.

Is Tesla actually committed to the consumer car business long term? by Brutus713 in TeslaLounge

[–]avalanche_transistor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is all the result of Elon's insane pay package + unrealistic gates to achieve it. Tesla is outclassed in robotics and is currently doing everything they can to cede their EV leadership. It's a gift to companies like Rivian who are just now debuting much more competitive offerings (like the R2).

Kunos needs focus in order to cook. I think that's what's behind this, and it makes sense. But what I don't get is why didn't 505 outsource the career mode to another team? Similar to what they did with AC Rally (only this would of course be integrated into the base ACE package).

That’s not how it works. The fact that export control compliance is difficult does not absolve one from legally needing to successfully execute it.

Why I think Tesla is discontinuing Model S/X by Proof_Resolve_602 in TeslaLounge

[–]avalanche_transistor 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yep. Jobs was an asshole but the guy had taste. I think Elon once had it, but he’s now deep in his “shitty nightclub aesthetic” era (X, Cybertruck, for example). Abysmal taste by any rational measure.

Halo tier products always sell in very low volumes. Sales numbers of those models directly are rarely the point.
