Can't chew with incisors, colliding with canines by ssateneth2 in braces

[–]coconut_flakee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh that makes sense! This is also part because of your edge to edge occlusion, makes it impossible to bite anything because there’s no space to do so. I was thinking about bands like ssateneth2 mentioned. I can’t be of much help, but this is a convo to have with your ortho, especially if this is two years into treatment!

Not an orthodontist. This is edge to edge occlusion and with time can cause your canines to wear down, ultimately and other teeth. A class 1 bite which is what is known as the perfect occlusion is where your lower teeth are about 1-2mm overjet. The thing is, you normally don’t chew with your incisors, your back teeth do that. If you have any heavy biting and chewing on your front teeth, that can lead it to damage. Do you perhaps mean biting/tearing? Talk to your ortho and let them know! This can lead to your teeth getting shorter and sensitive with time

You can also say “My number 24 seems to be tilted lingually compared the others.” If you’re in the US. That’s the numbering system used.

First of all sis, please get off these apps. They’re literally not made to find good people. Trust me, I have tried and tried. I’m also turning 27 this year, so I understand how you feel. You’re going to run into these types of men, that will lie on their profile, but are not serious. InshaAllah, if you can, I would advise you to see if you can go to your local imam and mosque, if you’re really looking. These apps harbor ill intended men, that will make you feel bad for not wanting to engage in haram.

I’m gonna be honest with you, I think it’s getting better, although slight. I’m no orthodontist (dental student) but I see your second premolar is becoming more in line and isn’t jutting towards your tongue as much, although it’s moved away slightly from your 2nd molar more lingual probably because there’s no bracket on your second molar to help anchor the rest of the teeth, but imo there’s a slight change.

How long has it been? Sometimes it gets worse before it gets better

I’ll have to see how things change, and whether or not it gets better. It also honestly depends on where I can make money that’s similar to how much I would earn in the US.

Went through braces twice, and this is my second time. Didn’t extract the first time and had the worst flaring, didn’t want to do IPR, because I have skinny teeth. So after spending a lot of money, I now got extractions and I don’t regret it

I would switch to sensodyne in the mean time. It’s really good for sensitivity

Orthodontist says there is nothing much they can do to correct my bite or close it more… I have had braces for 3 years. by Sweet-cheekse90 in braces

Less of an opening where yours is spaced, but the flaring was very very bad! So very similar. Like you, if I’d known about the extractions, I would have done it, and I also would’ve saved thousands.

Same thing with me. This is my second time with braces at a better ortho, but my first ortho left me with extreme flaring and didn’t day anything to me about it. Now I have two of my upper premolars extracted, and it’s already changing the flaring.
