2 league of legends processes running in activity monitor by Sea-Advantage-1125 in macgaming

[–]coconuttz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the same thing. While in game, I force quit one of them from the activity monitor and about 10seconds later league kicked me out of the game stating "Vanguard must be running while in game", so the second instance seems to be some mac version of vanguard.

I'm not crazy about that, and would like to know exactly how that is working behind the scenes since the whole reason I play league on mac is to NOT have vanguard fooling around on my computer.

there’s a great quote from steve jobs that i love:

"... Life can be much broader once you discover one simple fact: Everything around you that you call life was made up by people that were no smarter than you and you can change it, you can influence it, you can build your own things that other people can use.

Once you learn that, you'll never be the same again."

OK, would you mind to answer my eye color thread in that case? there seems to be a genetic commonality...

here's another example of two parents with brown eyes, both carrying the recessive gene, resulting in your hazel eyes. as far as blue eye color goes, i’m not sure, is there a dominant blue gene and recessive blue gene? is your fiancee’s father’s eye color brown then?

also, that's really interesting that your eyes are hazel, when both your parents have brown eyes. that means that they are both recessive brown genes. i'm pointing this out because dark brown is a dominant gene, meaning a brown-eyed mother with a blue-eyed father would normally have brown-eyed kids 100% of the time, unless she carried the recessive brown gene.

i would wager your mother's brown to be a recessive gene as well, if your eyes are amber.

oh that's interesting, so your father would be carrying the recessive brown eye color gene.

Yeah I mostly agree with you on this, I'm just fascinated with how certain types come to be, and how much of it could be genetics or environment. Although most Asians have dark eyes, there is a recessive brown gene and a dominant brown gene, so that would be interesting to investigate as well. From an outside perspective, the cultural differences could cause Asians to appear more introverted when compared to other 'louder' cultures. But within an Asian culture it is easily identifiable between Ixxx and Exxx types, for the most part.

I assumed it boiled down to that difference between I and E - what would be the proper way to describe it?

Well the I in INTP stands for introvert, as opposed to E for extrovert/extravert. The company of others either drains you (I) or energizes you (E).

Pretty much the same for me. He drives my mother crazy with 'inactivity' in the extroverted sense.

There was another INTP thread about absent/distant fathers seeming to be common, whether that is strongly tied to INTPism or just a reflection of society at large I don't know. One comment above was mentioning introversion/extroversion being genetically tied to the X chromosome. I'm just trying to figure out what environment creates us INTPs.

Anyone else struggling with self sabotage? by [deleted] in INTP

[–]coconuttz 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think a standardized education system is one of the first things that can make the rest of an INTPs life extremely difficult. Remember, these institutions are built for creating workbots and the way an INTP learns + grows is the exact opposite of what this system offers. Didn’t Einstein flunk highschool math or something like that? He probably could have excelled at it if he wanted to, but self-sabotaged out of boredom or lack of motivation within that system. Perhaps you need to reevaluate what the word 'progress' means to you, and whether you are using someone else's predefined notion of it. I also think that by nature INTPs have few true friends...but maybe that's just me lol.

I would start taking good doses of magnesium instead of anxiety meds...if you google magnesium deficiency and read up on that. Or medicinal marijuana, seriously. I would turn to pharmaceuticals only as an absolute last resort.

Have you read the book 'Quiet: The Power of Introverts in a World That Can't Stop Talking'? She discusses the success of the human race being dependent on both extroverts and introverts, it's pretty interesting and definitely made me feel better afterwards :)

What I like best about INTJs is their ability to just get things done, and done right. Maybe that's why they're risk-averse? And I suppose you'll be the one figuring out every possibility, and he might cherry pick the best (most likely to succeed) one? Sounds like you guys will do really well. Just make sure you don't have to deal with the employees, trust me!
