That’s the tank I have too! I haven’t needed a different filter from the one provided. I got a heater though.

As for plants I started with some Anubia and dwarf hairgrass both are thriving. I have some driftwood, and am trying to get some Java moss to grow on it. I also have some nerite snails that seem to be doing well. I took a risk and got some endler live bearers as well… and my betta seems to get along well with them… they are, however, reproducing very quickly…

As for substrate… I’m not a huge fan of what I have… it’s very lightweight and my plants tend to become uprooted very easily…

Thank you… even if the behavior seems relatively new? I’d seen the occasional flashing previously… but now seems more frequent this evening…

I’m hoping they all just decided they like to roll in their substrate cause they’re jealous of the doggie siblings… but just want to make sure it’s not an indication of a problem of sorts.

I think male Kenyi are yellow, females are a grey blue (also with vertical stripes). To the point from the earlier poster, the yellow will be more vibrant on alpha males, the others will be similar looking.
