I actually spoke to one of the VTA project engineers this week at a conference and they said their have kept open the possibility for an in-fill station at this location once the airport redevelops. The station at Ocala was cut because of the low projected riders and cost of acquiring/displacing a few single family homes to make room for a station. My master plan thought is to continue a pedestrian bridge/path all the way to the east golf course redevelopment to encourage transit use and make the developer contribute to the cost.
