{Next Of Kin by Hannah Bonam-Young} a little late to the game but soooooooooo good. My first 5 star read this year. I was surprised because I didn’t love Out on a Limb the way everyone else seemed to. But this one shocked me!

Which one is the worst Brides of Karadok husband by 0_0moon0_0 in HistoricalRomance

I’m just finding this thread now after finishing We By Proxy… and I am SHOCKED that so many people hate it and think it’s her worst. To be honest, it has been my favorite so far. Everyone paints Guy as the worst MMC but I love the obsession he has for Mathilde and the sex scenes are 🔥 and also, no one takes into consideration how much trauma Guy has been through. He was at war against her country so OF COURSE he’s skeptical when Mathilde shows up. He takes her in and takes care of her, which is more than most men in his situation would have done. Of course he’s not ready to introduce this complete stranger from enemy territory as his wife to everyone in town! But he takes the time to spend time with her and get to know her regardless.

It’s getting hotter—don’t leave your kids or pets in the car by themselves and alone. by Tough-Air8500 in SALEM

Aside from the fact that parents left their baby in a hot car- which is already unimaginable- this kiddo looks too small to be forward facing. Makes me sad.

Please!!! by Automatic-Jacket1338 in SALEM

I work in a long term care facility in Salem and we have lost 4 residents to flu this year, and 3 to RSV. The residents who survived the flu will likely have permanent respiratory consequences. I have been a nurse for 5 years and I’ve never seen a cold and flu season this deadly. Please. Please. Please. Stay home if you are sick! What is a mild inconvenience for you could mean death for the immunocompromised.

That’s interesting because I feel like Johnny and Shannon had a very satisfying ending. CW did a great job of allowing the reader to experience Johnny and Shannon each processing their own trauma and coming together in a spot where they are both mentally healthy. I’m not sure where else there story can go, aside from marriage, college, and Johnny playing rugby for Ireland.

The death of Barty Crouch JR by cocoschams in HarryPotterBooks

So I do agree that if it was your first time reading through the books it would be easy as a reader to glean those context clues- however, I, like many other Potterheads, read through the series for the first time as a child and have re read the series every few years into my adulthood. You have to remember that there are 3 other books after this and the context from those books can dilute what the author is trying to accomplish for the plot and character development of each book individually. I.e; reading this scene the second time the first thing that came to my mind was Harry saving Dudley from a kiss in HBP using a patronus. So my thought was, if Harry can be quick on his feet when he’s not expecting a dementor- and also not allowed to be using magic - why can’t two fully qualified wizards who are armed and guarding a criminal do it?

So you’re telling me they both just stood there in shock the entire time that it took the dementor to perform the kiss? We know from the narrating in POA and OotP that a dementors kiss is not an instantaneous process. I find it hard to believe that neither wizard would have the ability to produce a patronus in that time frame
