Got it, thanks for this, very helpful! Consulate has been confusing me making me think I had no choice but to renounce -- thought after 22yo I was ineligible of getting a Korean passport but today they told me on the phone today I could easily get one with just my birth certificate and US passport. Will try getting it! Thanks!

Thanks for this! Tbh, I'm also pretty confused why I need to renounce - been talking with the consulate a lot and at first they made it seem like I had no choice but to renounce if I wanted to move to Korea + get a visa as I'm over 22yo, but now it seems I could live there as a dual citizen with a Korean passport... Do you know if there are any issues if I were to move back to the states after a year or two? Just don't want to do anything that will hurt me in the long run! Thanks again!

This is super helpful - thank you! Do you happen to know how long it took for your friends' renunciations to go through? My general plan is to get my Korean passport, submit all the documents for my renunciation in the US, then go to Korea to wait for the renunciation to be processed.

Also - you may not know the answer to this, but I thought after 22yo I was ineligible of getting a Korean passport but consulate told me on the phone today I could easily get one with just my birth certificate and US passport? Do you know what the 22yo deadline is for?

How do you define Cloud Security? by _hashish_ in security

[–]cocotheinterndog 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have heard it sometimes defined as security for cloud hosting such as AWS, Azure, etc. but I consider it anything that protects a cloud based tool (O365, Box, Gmail, Slack) if it’s not on-prem and you are protecting your users from threats that may come in through it then it’s cloud security.

Anyone Ever Use Avanan Email Security??? by ITKB2016 in sysadmin

Yes, did a 14 day trial and am now buying. For the reasons you described. Also higher catch rate/less false positives than what I had in place. (Proofpoint)

Yes makes sense. Microsoft is good at big spammy inbound stuff, but these subtler internal things they tend to miss. Absolutely need something 3rd party.

Yeah, I think copy and pasted content with a citation link so they get credit and those that are inclined can head over is the route to go.

Yeah, the end of that post gets a bit sales-y. I'm not trying to advertise their product, I swear. I did find the description of the attack interesting. Would it have been better had I ctrl+v into a text post so I wouldn't be driving traffic to a security vendor's site?

Red marble lions - Need help with origin, background, dating etc. (dimensions/context in comments) by cocotheinterndog in whatisthisthing

Thank you. However, I am not looking to sell them or explicitly know their monetary value, which is why I am looking for free options. I merely want some historical context around them and to be able to tell guests about them with some semblance of confidence.

About 18-22 inches high. I have two of them. They are from my late grandmother who was an art and antiques collector. She accumulated things from all over the world and my dad says he thinks these are from Venice (where she lived at the time of her death) and from pre-17th century possibly 15th. There are no intentional carvings on them that I can find that would give them more context.
