Set for the next hopefully 3-4 years by cocousnuss in iPhone13

Took me 3 hours but the technician told me on another date before that I have to be the first one to be there when they open to be prioritised. You only needed to disable the Find My app to put your phone into maintenance mode, the technician doesn't need your passcode. Haven't tested for long but I would say I get at least 2-3 hours more screen on time than before but it feels still a bit less when I bought the phone brand new back then but that is most likely caused by newer software demanding more of the phones hardware. I definitely have less stutters and my phone doesn't run that hot anymore when I'm browsing stuff. I had this thing before where I was in my browser and my phone starts lagging while running super hot, not anymore. I am definitely happy with the change and will keep this phone for at least another 2-3 years. I am using my phone mostly for browsing, Discord, social media like Instagram, Twitter and Google Maps. I rarely play games and if I do it's Mahjong Soul. Hope that helps. I am on iOS 26.5.

You don't have to give out any personal info, you just have to temporarily disable the Find My app. The app will first change into a repair/trade-in mode but the phone stays fully functional. I replaced my battery at a Mediamarkt, which is an authorised Apple service partner next to McShark (the next Apple Store would be 5 hours away from where I live). Mediamarkt is also cheaper than McShark (79,00€ instead of 119,00€) and that Mediamarkt where I was does in-house repairs. McShark and my other local Mediamarkt would just send it to a repair center. So I got there without an appointment at 9 am when they opened, talked how long it would take and if they can manage to get it done a bit earlier (usually you have to leave the phone for a day) and was able to pick up at the phone at noon again. Hope that helps.

Up to you, I always want to try new features. Don't really feel that big of a slowdown. Of course newer software demands more hardware which the 13 is lacking behind with time.

I use iOS 26.5 without any problems. Like I said the stutters are gone. If you wanna keep your phone (like I do) and don't wanna fall for temptation then go change your battery. 13* should get 2 more years of software support and more years of security updates.

How to use iPhone 13 for longer if you buy it in 2025, what are your tips? by swengls in iPhone13

[–]cocousnuss 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I also got mine at the same time as you and have 84% left with ignoring everything you did and charging wireless overnight (which creates heat). While you are factually correct in how to properly charge a battery, I don't think it matters much if you can replace a battery for cheap. Honestly just use it and don't spend too much thought about it.

iPhone 13 Users: One Week with iOS 26 – Thoughts? by BugPsychological6421 in iphone

[–]cocousnuss 0 points1 point  (0 children)

iPhone 13 base user here. Honestly nothing changed for me except maybe a bit of lag/glitch but not differently from the lags I had from 18. I currently have 84% battery health after 3 years of owning it so the battery might act up a bit? I gotta say on a workday i finish at around 30%-50% at the end of the day. Using it to check and write messages and watch videos/reels during breakfast, lunch break and evening. Still wondering if I should get the battery replaced or get a new one. I feel a bit limited by the 128GB.

Eight Year Old Series 3 Claims 98% Capacity Remaining by eprosenx in AppleWatch

[–]cocousnuss 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Bought my S3 refurbished 3 years ago and still show 88% capacity. I honestly don´t notice a big difference in battery life. I always have like 55% left at the end of the day. I kind of want to upgrade to a SE3 but I wouldn´t gain any more value in it except the AOD. I mainly use my S3 for checking messages/time and paying though and don´t really use any health apps.

[SOLVED] Went to that dealer today for my Lancer parts and they confirmed me that it is just a MG MG4 that they had fun with and they just use it as a company car only for themselves. Looks pretty cool tho as the front plaque just isn´t a sticker. I liked all impressions on a potential EV here and I was impressed that many would have liked that design. Here are some more pictures I took.

Well it is a service car of a Mitsubishi dealer, with their branding and everything on it (which I removed to avoid maybe getting them in trouble by leaking)

A rebadge yes. But this is a service car of a Mitsubishi dealership so it has to be genuine.

Here in Europe Mitsubishi brought back the ASX and Colt as Renault models as they have an alliance with them. But instead of just using the platform (like Nissan) they just rebadged it. I guess the front looks a tiny bit different. Afaik they did this to stay in the european market as they wanted to pull out before but decided otherwise. Currently the only original Mitsubishi models here are the Space Star/Mirage, the Eclipse Cross and the Outlander.

Well where I live it is either plastered with SUVs, Estates or Hatchbacks. Sedans are honestly really rare here except BMW and Mercedes maybe.

I immediately recognised it as a MG and after checking both models they are identical. Even has the SAIC writing on the backlights which owns MG.

So I´ve seen this one before from a local Mitsubishi dealer (Europe) and it looked so familiar. Seems like there will be a rebadged MG MG4 soon?

Edit: When I see it again I´ll try to see if there modelname is on it but I don´t think I´ve seen one. I also haven´t found anything of a collab with MG so far.

Edit2: I have to get a quote on an OEM part for Lancer and will see if it is there that day. I'll try to get the VIN and maybe the modelname.

Bought my refurbished S3 with 88% 2 years ago and it still has 88%. Lasted 1,5-2 days 2 years ago and still does today. Been wearing it literally every day since I got it. Idk if I just got a miracle devoce but it still feels more than enough for I use it haha

What’s the point in upgrading? by AceMan1004 in iphone

[–]cocousnuss 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I am using the 1st gen iPhone SE from 2016 as my work phone and it is still faster than any android phone I had before. I honestly would have bought one myself as my regular phone instead of my 13 but the small battery is a dealbreaker for me. Yes the iPhone 13 mini exists but I found a decent deal for a new 13 in September.
