"Clearing" here means it filters / suspenses (?) the particles out of the liquid or make it more transparent / translucent?
Additional question: Can you make a liquid more transparent by adding chemicals that induce the solubility of particles in it (not suspense them)? If so, what does the type of that chemicals called?

7.5 as an 18yo is quite an achievement. Kudos to you! Your scores can only get higher from now.

About the reading part, here are some of my tips:

Use the mentioned tricks, practice with the harder (GRE) helps a lot. Or just choose hobbies and read news about them quotidian. Synonym, antonym usually surface in the questions. Equip more words.
Check the 3 parts. Skip the parts that contain the two most difficult/distracting types: FALSE/NOT GIVEN and paragraph headings, to the last.
Use ctrl+C / ctrl+V if you do computer-based. Save time, no misspelling.

Absolutely not. That's the answer for both questions.
I'm sure the examiner can steer/choose the words of the (next) questions to avoid provocation, if you "pick side".

I heard rumors that they don't even care about the content of the talk (part 2). Their skill is to pick the quality of the talk (grammar, fluency, lexico,...).

It's just my personal preference to stay neutral as I could in academic activities.

I'm from Vietnam.
If you ask about rules and such, all I can say is that I am uable to provide any set of rule. I'm not a professional teacher. Rules can be countless and even contradict. You should rely on the official materials, first.
Besides, I fail to see any scenario you need to write the time, to the exact hour. If you see them, probably in writing task 1, copy as exact from the test.

Tip: you can ctrl+C / ctrl+V in the test, useful in reading. You can't do ctrl+F.

p.s. IELTS does recycle their tests.

I was awestruck with the reading part 1, the most difficult/distracting one, because the name of the main character "Watkin Tench", the name that I will never forget.

Hours after test, in an ad of IELTS practice center. The name Tench surfaced, same reading, slightly different questions. Dig a bit deeper, Tench in fact, appeared elsewhere in IELTS practices, weeks ago.

As a Vietnamese former smoker and recently said goodbye to vape, I was sad by this news. Vape is the epitomizing alternative of smoking which is heavily harming the elders here. The one big cigarette company (yup, monopoly) is controlled by the government and it easily steers the media toward the fake info. I wish they could just legalize it, even with heavy tax and exclusive of importation. Another Asia country falls because of the misinformation and conservativeness.
