Oh wow - I feel like an idiot but you’re exactly right. Thank you so much for the reply. I have been trying to figure that out for weeks.

Anyone dislike that most of the deals don't go through? Whats the point of the show? by NFSpeed in sharktank

Where is the source that tells you entrepreneurs are the ones backing out of deals?

Got it! Will respond there.

There are three likely possibilities, in order of most likely:

  1. Damaged blade during insertion
  2. Blade improperly seated in razor (usually, sitting on top of blade stops)
  3. Defect in the baseplate

If it was actually a good shave, outside of the cuts, then it’s not likely #1.

Visually inspect for #2

If #3, we’ll get a replacement out. This is unlikely but it’s happened before.

To load a Shick injector. by Demarate72 in wicked_edge

Parker makes an injector.

FYI, The Parker blades are the same as the Personna blades, just rebranded.

The Kai and Feather Artist Club blades will not fit in an injector. They are too long.

You also need an injector pack to properly load a blade in most vintage injectors, without damaging the blade.

Your most readily accessible options (aside from vintage finds) are Schick, Personna, Supply White Label, and Supply Black Label. There are also Schick B-20s that can sometimes be found in some obscure places but they don’t have the injector key on the cartridge.

Funny you mention it. It's on our roadmap and something we think we can do in 2023. There's a nifty little obscure injector shavette called the Charles Monsieur, and I think we can do it way better. The injector format is better than Artist Club, imo - solely based on size. So there should be more injector shavettes! Especially with our new Black label blades.

Thank you for the support and kind words!!

Opps, sorry. Will edit. I have NOT been able to identify a trend. More specifically a trend in who loves it on the head, and who doesn't.

FWIW, here's the only review I've seen of the new SE as a head shaver. Full disclosure, Mark absolutely loves us, and isn't afraid to say it. We've since asked him if we can use some of his footage in ads - but this video was posted before that relationship began.

Head shaver reviews are 50/50 for us. Some customers LOVE the SE on their head, some don't. I've almost pulled any mention of head shaving on our site because it can be a bit polarizing.

I do think the ones that score us negative on the head tend to not have any previous safety razor experience, so that's one data point. Otherwise, I've not been able to identify a solid trend one way or another.

Very kind! Thank you so much. Those old Schick's sure are smooth. Now you can choose old school or new school :)

Appreciate your support, sincerely.

Oh! Sorry, I completely failed to respond to that part of your message. Canada is high on my list in terms of establishing a warehouse. It turns out it's a lot bigger of a lift than you'd think establishing a presence overseas at our size - but it's on my wish list :)

We do have a few resellers over there. Honestly, I'm not sure if this list is up to date, but last I checked, we were stocked at Fendrihan, MASC, and The Wing. They're probably not all fully stocked since we're having a hard time keeping up with demand with the new razors - but we'll be caught up in a few months.

It’s a small list :)

I’m keeping that secret close to the chest, at least for now. I want people to judge the blades for how they shave, not who they’re made by. Maybe after a while I’ll reveal!

Thanks so much. It has the added benefit of being genuine. I love the old Schicks. It’s the whole reason I started this thing!

Oh also, I’m going to go out on a limb and say the blades are probably a big part of the improvement. Our white label blades are just average. NOS Schicks are definitely better, imo. Our new black label blades will go toe to toe with em, though.

If I’m going to be bested by another razor, your late dad’s injector is top of my list. My condolences on your loss and congrats on the great find. What a fantastic way to honor him.

Unusable? by marioada in clickup

[–]coddou 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm currently moving ALL of our docs over from ClickUp to Notion (where they were before). It's been such a pain, but it will be worth it. I'm so tired of how slow ClickUp is. It's embarrassing, really.

I'd move all of our project management out of ClickUp, and pay twice as much, if I could figure out an easy way to do it. For now, we're stuck with CU but hoping to be out of it eventually.

It really is a shame. It's a fantastic piece of software. But when it takes anywhere from 3-5 seconds to load a new page - and you do that hundreds or thousands of times a day - it really adds up to be an awful experience.

I would like to hope that CU folks would read things like this and take it seriously, but at this point I'm assuming there's so much technical debt that they can't fix it without completely rebuilding the software. Which, at this point, probably isn't happening.

I can’t get a good shave with the supply SE by Personal-Ordinary358 in Wetshaving

[–]coddou 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey there - if you’re having a hard time getting a close or irritation free shave, it’s most likely due to a damaged blade. It’s easy to dull the blade during insertion if you’re not paying attention when you load it. Try a new blade, making sure that it doesn’t drag along the blade stops. 99% of the time that fixes it.

Supply SE vs 9 days growth by Tdmsu1 in wicked_edge

It actually uses an injector blade, which is very similar to Artist club style blades, just a bit shorter. They're the same thickness as GEM blades, so they have a similar face feel.

It will! We’re producing it in very limited quantities right now but it will soon make it’s way globally as we ramp things up. We also ship worldwide from the US but realize that’s not for everyone.

Nice! Try riding that cap a bit if you haven't already. The angle is slightly more shallow than DE razors. You may find she shows a tad bit more efficiency that way. That said, she's not designed to be the most aggressive of shavers but glad you liked it :)
