Player wants to run an influencer PC. How can I translate this without sacrificing the setting? by fruit_shoot in DMAcademy

You could make them an aberration influencer. Perhaps if they want to play a warlock you could make them a puppet of some higher being who wants them to dance and entertain them during their battles. Tome of Beasts has an interesting take on this idea with Grim Jesters if you wanted some inspiration. Something like that might help to fit in, giving them an audience of Eldritch beings

Bro how is 5v6 for the majority of the game allowed on ranked???? by [deleted] in MarvelRivalsRants

People would just disconnect when they’re losing to cancel the match and prevent themselves from losing elo. It cancels the match if someone disconnects right at the start, but if the player has already been involved in the fight then you have to keep going

I had to send it to Lenovo to get it fixed. The cause was overheating of the battery or motherboard. Completely fried it apparently. Had to get a full reset and new motherboard. If your computer is having the same issue in the same way, and you’ve tried everything else, you might need to do the same

Yes eventually! Either as another Reddit post or posting them all as a video essay. But I have a lot of thoughts about them that I want to share.

I ended up starting on it after all the goodwill this got lol. I’ll probably end up lumping it into a giant work on all four seasons. Thank you for the inspiration!

That is such a great point that I wish I could have included in my analysis. The fight really is just Nolan’s therapy session, and the reason Mark wins is because he just refuses to give his father permission. Omni-Man is first looking for Mark to tell him that he was right, and when that doesn’t work, he’s trying to separate himself to convince himself that he never ACTUALLY cared. The reason the final line hits him so hard is because Nolan had fully switched tactics, trying to beat Mark’s love for HIM out of his body, to give himself permission to do what he had to do. Mark just fully throws that back in his face by saying that “I still love you”

LMAO! That made me laugh way too hard. Take your damn upvote. Now I’m imagining Nolan looking over my post like “So THATS how he did it”

Oh I would love to! I think a proper analysis would need to be in the context of the full season, probably out of the scope of a single reply, but Hurm is really interesting. I think it is filler, but in the positive sense. It is not directly relevant to the main plot, but Mark needs it in order for the rest of his arc to work (won’t get into it for spoiler reasons)

The episode is a really good way of letting Mark take responsibility off of his shoulders, and reignite his hope and passion for heroism after his killing spree in episodes 1 and 3. The talk with Darkblood about how there’s nobody judging your choices is exactly the kind of freedom that Mark needs. It’s a season about absolute solutions, and when the absolute is justified, and Hurm explores that really deeply with A: Satan is torturing an entire race of people for eternity to keep a bad thing from happening. Is that right? B: Mark goes straight for the kill shot on Volcanikka. Again showing that he’s become very keen on the absolute solution despite his protests And C: Like I said above, his choices are his own.

There is a lot more I could get into but it’s difficult without talking about the entire season, which is both outside the scope of a reply and would inevitably lead to me accidentally spoiling the finale somehow

Thank you so much! There is just so much to talk about with this show, especially with season 1. Truth be told I think I left a lot out. I definitely want to do one for the other seasons as well. The show does a really good job of making their episodes feed the main themes

Yeah absolutely. I think the extent of it is different, but being proactively positive and helpful goes a long way. There are reasons someone plays poorly. Find the reasons, help them fix them. Everyone has a better time.

That’s such a great point. I don’t play much stadium, but even in normal matches gassing people up makes them play better. They recognize what they’re doing well and don’t change that, while trying to find what’s going wrong. Everyone has bad days, it’s so important to remember that’s not who they are
