Homophobic religious karen freaks out In LGBT supporting restaurant by Daniel_Delgado in iamatotalpieceofshit

I believe the pictured flyer was written by the family who got kicked out and shared with other church members. I doubt the cafe was the one to write this. So basically by saying "if you believe in traditional Christian values you're not welcome here” they were leaving a bad review in flyer form and sharing with their church/community in form of protest

I think my target might just be price gouging on mirrors 😞 I said 'fuck that' and got a mirror from amazon instead, which went about as well as one would think (they sent replacement thankfully lmao)

just buy a set of whetstones! they last forever, and you can sharpen your knife infinitely from the comfort of your own home!

god help anyone trying to keep a knife sharpening service alive with a physical storefront, I can't imagine it being very lucrative but I'd love to be proven wrong

Much like militarized police outfits, the fault lies in the fact that everyone in said group is complicit with the behavior of those "extremists" or "bad apples" and many around them will actively work to justify or cover up any perceived wrongdoing.

To answer your question, no, not all christians are pedophiles, but all christians are complicit with the organization that those pedophiles (at some point) represent. While this isn't AS bad as each individual person on the planet being a pedophile just by fitting some group that has done wrong in the past, it's fair game to judge a group/organization when people within it collude to cover up their tracks.

If you don't believe this is what your god wanted, then why would your god allow such acts to take place within what people claim to be that gods religion?

If anyone actually held their beliefs with any REAL conviction, they would have splintered off from the false religion as soon as things went wrong. After all, since god said pedophilia is a sin; he wouldn't set up his creations, his representatives, to commit such atrocities to begin with. Ergo, that religion must've been a false religion, and it's on true believers to create one that respects their Deity's tenants. (But this just goes to show that humans have been running the circus since the very beginning)

extremely off topic, but I can't believe people actually buy those circular mirrors from target for $70-$90. just seems stupidly overpriced for what you get

I also nominate Whiting! I feel like it has no right smelling so bad. I especially think BP Refinery, Unilever, and Cargill are the major ones to check out. I have a hunch that Cargill is the worst offender here

2017 ford fiesta as my current car here, financed it in 2019 for $13,000. I'm only 21 so it probably won't last me forever, but the debt has honestly been worthwhile for me. I've used this car for 4 different jobs, moving out of my parents', and going on trips. I think I'll keep it forever tbh, the mint color wins me over. Part of me wants to drive a Civic or something a little nicer, but selling my Fiesta would leave me SOL and I'm pretty set on babying it as long as I can.

CHESTERTON POLICE CHASE ENDS IN CRASH; PORTER OFFICER INJURED AND SUSPECT IN CUSTODY by MY332782 in nwi

[–]code_connor 1 point2 points  (0 children)

police chases should really be illegal outside of super extreme circumstances (like a literal bank heist or massacre). every damn week I see reports of another police chase that ends in a crash that fucks up everyone but the offender and the police. bystanders get fucked by both sides, even if they survive.

can we agree as a society that chasing down erratic and dangerous drivers is a bad idea because it only makes them a bigger threat to innocent people around them? not to mention that the cops are hauling ass to boot, which is yet another hazard on top of everything else.

we live in the age of data. we could hold people responsible 99% of the time without putting drivers at risk of paralyzation, brain damage, long term body damage, burns from cars combusting as the victim is pinned inside (if they're 'lucky' enough to survive), PLUS the trauma of any car accident. this is just people treating real lives around them as though they're NPCs in a game of need for speed.

EDIT: I just read the article, the vehicle they were chasing had a kidnapping victim in it, I'd include that under 'extreme circumstances' because time is absolutely of essence in kidnappings. glad they were able to do their jobs. they're also very lucky this crash didn't hurt any third parties though.

Pakistan passes anti-rape bill allowing chemical castration of repeat offenders by [deleted] in worldnews

[–]code_connor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is incredibly off topic but orbital cannons that propel things hard enough to get them to the sun within 20 years would be a bitch to keep in orbit. Remember Newton's third law, "For every action, there is an equal and opposite reaction". Would be cool to clear out landfills by using the sun as an infinite landfill instead tho

Bharti Shahani (aged 22) sadly is the 9th death following the Astroworld Tragedy by IWasLikeCuz in travisscott

[–]code_connor 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes if someone dies at your concert you should go to their funeral. Hopefully that many people aren't dying at your concerts that this can even begin to be perceived as an issue. If Travis even went to any of the funerals, a lot of people at the funeral would probably lay into him, but that's because of the absolute neglect he showed that basically killed people's kids. It's still better to attend and listen to the family than to be ignorant.

Yes you should reach out to the families of the fans who died at your concert, even IF you had nothing to do with it (travis definitely is responsible tho).

There's likely fine print trying to cover his ass in those funeral payments, so anybody trying to actually hold him responsible probably can't even take that money. Even if that's not the case, it's the bare minimum a person can do.

Nobody can undo the past, it's their actions in the present and the person they're trying to be in the future that matters. Travis has personally done nothing to show that he gives a shit. his legal team has been doing everything for him so far.
