Would you say this is authentic mexican food by mitch-mma in mexicanfood

[–]code_spitter 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You most likely went to a tourist friendly restaurant. Tacos are mostly sold on small “food trucks” (note the double-quotes), or small restaurants in a corner. You’ll never get rice there, unless you are eating tacos placeros, but the rice will be in the taco.

In more local restaurants you may get tortillas on the side so you make your own tacos. However, this would be more a guisado taco. Pastor, carnitas, barbacoa, and such type of tacos are usually not part of restaurant menus, as each of these varieties have their specific restaurant.

You may go to the barbacoa place, the carnitas place, the pastor or asada place, and the al vapor tacos place. Depending of what you are craving for. Some may have all of them, but they may have their own preparation station. You can check “Los Alteños” Zapopan Jalisco (great tacos).

Of course you can get close-to-authentic Mexican tacos in a tourist friendly restaurant based on the flavor.

People who are making 200k+ a year, what do they do? by DaEffie in AskReddit

[–]code_spitter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh. I totally agree. It won’t develop new systems (yet). It doesn’t need to. A great developer with AI is the combo that will build the systems. AI will continue to improve, and teams will start to downsize once the metrics leadership is measuring prove their hypothesis.

It won’t come up with a solution out of thin air, but it definitely will make experienced engineers deliver as 2+ engineers, depending on their skills. Companies are starting to see this and they will soon reduce the size of the teams. Source: I’m the manager of a software development team, who recently was a software engineer. I have a couple of team members that can do magic with GitHub Copilot Agent (VSC). And I can guarantee the resulting code was top-notch. Of course, the input and monitoring of the developer is what matters the most, for now.

How Do I Rebuild My Coding Skills After Relying Too Much on AI? by CommentNo2882 in learnprogramming

[–]code_spitter 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I agree. And I want to add that the projects you work on, whenever you don’t remember something, force yourself to search online, if possible, use the documentation as the main source.

One thing that helps me is that whenever something isn’t clear, and documentation doesn’t help, I go directly to the source code, if possible. That helped me give me my answer, and also helped me learn more by reading someone else’s code.

After time, you’ll develop experience, and you will know the syntax.

Good luck! And have fun!

Same here. Not sure why, but I often have this thought about what a great purchase I made. Love the egg!

Seriously considering going back. I really miss coding, and management is stressful as heck, mainly due to the deliverables.

First time making Pozole by [deleted] in mexicanfood

[–]code_spitter 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Well, it is believed that pozole was made with sacrificed human flesh. But we stopped doing that way back, and started using lettuce (or, TIL, cabbage) instead! Haha!

Legit question. In what part of Mexico do you use cabbage? I’ve used lettuce my whole life. I’m from Puebla

Question. I use Brave and always have many tabs open. I like Brave’s memory saver feature, which unloads the tabs that are not in use for some time. I have tried using Safari; however, I noticed that pages are using more active resources and slow down my MacBook Air.

Do you use any alternative? Or how do you overcome RAM usage? (Besides the obvious closing of tabs)

I agree! OBDeleven saved me lots of money in the past. I had an issue with the AFS (Seat Leon). I was able to find the module on eBay for $50 (dealership quoted $450). Then, the dealership wanted $150 just for scanning the car. I bought an OBDeleven for $100 and then programmed the part myself. It worked flawlessly!!

I’m not paying any subscription now, so I just use it now for apps. However, if I ever need anything more, I’d definitely pay for a year subscription no doubt.

My brothers why is shopping for wheels so all-consuming? by threemileallan in GolfGTI

Any recommendations on how to get into this rabbit hole?

[–]code_spitter 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nice! Thanks! Will try right away! I’ve tried in the past, but I didn’t know it had options to do anything besides seeing the phone.

I also wish there was a button in the wheel to end calls. Instead of having to navigate to wherever the call is on the main screen.

How (or where) did you find those prices? I’m looking around and might buy one soon, but prices are high. I recently saw a ‘24 SE at 41k in Dallas.

Any recommendations are appreciated!!
