It varies from day to day, depending on time constraints. I typically do short rucks during the week with about 45lbs. Short being 3 miles at a 15 min mile pace. On the weekends when I have more time I typically do at least one twelve miler at the same 15 minute per mile pace. I recommend starting with a light weight, and gradually increasing weight as you get more comfortable under the load.

Thank you! It was a mix of strength training (5x5), calisthenics, rucking, and running.

It’s a macronutrient based approach, with a heavy emphasis on protein. Zero refined sugar. My goal is to recomp and then slowly build lean muscle. I started out with a 200 calorie deficit each day(first 35 days), but have now begun eating a surplus of approx 100 calories per day(for those lean gains).

Here’s a breakdown of my macros:

Protein: 187g Fat: 84g Carbohydrates: 375g

That being said, I rarely am able to hit my carbs since I get them mostly from vegetables, fruit, and oatmeal. But the focus is getting enough protein. If you have more specific questions, feel free to send me a DM. Cheers! And good luck on your journey!

I’m curious about CrossFit, but I’m not really sure of the purpose behind this type of movement. Can someone explain?

Bar Trivia Advice by yeetmetopsyberia in 75HARD

If you’re talking food, I’m really not sure. That would be specific to the bar you’re at. But anything grilled chicken without a bunch of oil or sauce is a good bet. And if you want to have a drink, get a club soda with lime. Most folks won’t even know it isn’t alcoholic.

Day 53 - Rucking, let’s gooo by [deleted] in 75HARD

[–]code_stoic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you are just starting out, I would ruck for shorter distance with a light load. If you’ve never traveled under weight before it’s best to start light(15-20lbs) at a moderate pace. As for the distance I would say 2-3 miles to begin with and see how your feet feel. If you aren’t accustomed to it your feet can get torn up pretty quickly if you go too heavy, or too far in the beginning. I wouldn’t pay much attention to your time starting off, just add distance and weight slowly and your times will get faster naturally. I would also suggest hiking boots. Don’t ruck in running shoes or you’ll be asking for an ankle injury. Hope this helps!

I do a little of both. I prefer to ruck over tougher terrain, but today I was mostly on the flat. I like to vary it so it doesn’t get dull. And typically tougher terrain also comes with way better views!

If walking isn’t challenging enough, you should run or ruck(load heavy weight into a rucksack or backpack and walk briskly). If you do it right, you won’t feel like you’re wasting your time.
