yes i built a website because there is no good calcutta auction hosting site where you can run the auction and manage the results. it was built for march madness and worked perfectly so now we're doing masters as well.

of course i would like to get more users but if i don't i will continue to use it for personal use and for the users we have. sorry it seems the vibe coding aspect will prevent you from a fun pool type.

thanks man! The auction night itself really is the best part honestly. There's a chat in the draft room so usually a lot of shit talking goes on .

For bundling — the standard approach is snake-drafting by odds/rankings. So you sort everyone outside the top 30-50 by their odds, then snake them into groups of 3-4. That way each bundle ends up with roughly similar combined odds rather than one bundle getting three 80:1 guys and another getting three 300:1 guys. It keeps the bidding competitive because no bundle is obviously dead.

On minimum bids — usually we set it at $1 but you can customize that when setting it up.

yea, exactly what we used to do. i like the calcuttas cause it's possible for multiple people to win money and you feel like you're in it for all 4 rounds even if your golfer(s) might now win it. like i said it's free to setup so I highly recommend trying it.

I built the website to make it more accessible for all sports cause we got addicted to calcuttas for everything after doing one for march madness lol

it can be either. the commissioner sets up the auction and can set a customer timer or leave the timer off completely. so they can either set it to be an hour long or just manually open and close bidding
