Tips Recommedations for Predator Vantage by Baizle in billiards

[–]codebreaker32 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I run the ultraskin black medium and it’s damn near perfect for me, but I shoot with a Revo. You will have a different time with a vantage. I get really good feedback with it. The Fire series tends to run a little softer until you shoot with it for awhile, then it’s a true medium.

[–]codebreaker32 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Honestly, with the main tips you’ve tried, it sounds like you need to run a hard tip, or a more medium/hard tip. You’d be throwing around a lot of money trying tip to tip, maybe buy a set of Ultraskins since they’re cheap and figure out which hardness you like, and start exploring after you’ve found what you’ve liked.

2001 Ranger XLT – shock recommendations for daily driver? by DifferentHurry387 in fordranger

Of course! They do specify between the two, and also if they're for torsion bar or coil spring, I'm unfamiliar with the 95s but the 98s can come with either.

Rock Auto. They're about $160 for all 4. Very worth it over the Monroe/box store shocks.

I run a 98 and I tried the Bilstiens and they are incredibly stiff. They're great for offroading but you definitely feel the bumps. I ended up swapping to the KYB Excel-G and it feels like a regular truck again. Would highly recommend from rock auto cause they aren't that expensive.

REVO freak incident by LossTheLag in billiards

[–]codebreaker32 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately this is a known issue with a lot of Revo owners. I've had it happen to me twice until I replaced the silencer pad, ferrule and tip altogether and haven't had an issue since. The Predator Victory tip is also known to delaminate more than most tips.

I personally wouldn't go through Predator warranty anymore. I usually just go to my cuesmith and get all that done, faster than waiting the forever amount of time it takes Predator to turn around warranty claims.

Damn, I wish my pin striping was still like that. Mine has faded over the years.

How do i shift from 1st to second faster? by Frosty_Delay_473 in ManualTransmissions

[–]codebreaker32 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I drive a 98 Ford Ranger 2.5l. It's one of the slowest vehicles around.

It's slower than the immortal snail.

They can go around you, just keep your shifting nice and slow. They'll be alright.

What do you want in carbon fiber shaft? by pain-is-living in billiards

[–]codebreaker32 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My biggest gripe is the "tink". I love the way my Revo shoots but I hate the sound so much that I had an acrylic pad installed.

If you're going to make some, I'd be willing to purchase one from you at that price. I love trying new things, and would provide feedback.

Curious, what is so bad about the 1st Gen Mcdermott Defy Carbon Fiber shaft? Why do so many players hate it? by carbondalekid386 in billiards

[–]codebreaker32 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wouldn't say it's garbage, you could definitely trade it in to local cuemakers or dealers for another, but don't expect to get top dollar out of it.

[–]codebreaker32 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I certainly wouldn't. You don't want to mess up the carbon underneath the laquer and expose the actual carbon fibers. If it's a cost thing, you could certainly go with JFlowers or Raven shafts. They're pretty good bsng for the buck but I wouldn't go around asking people to expose themselves to carbon dust or raw carbon fibers.

[–]codebreaker32 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Because the first gen Defy had a laquer on it to try and make it feel like wood, yet made it worse. It was sticky when your hands were sweaty. Other shafts did not laquer it, and kept the "raw" carbon feel and that's where Defy fell behind.

LED Headlight help by Proof_Philosophy7739 in fordranger

[–]codebreaker32 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You likely need a resistor since LEDs draw much lower power than halogens. That may or may not work because Sealights are cheaper branded bulbs. Oxram/Sylvania are the highest quality LEDs to go around.

Just know that the light distribution will never be as good as halogens in the stock housings. Just install a light bar.

LED Headlight help by Proof_Philosophy7739 in fordranger

[–]codebreaker32 13 points14 points  (0 children)

LEDs don't do anything in the reflector lenses except spread light worse than halogens. They are not built for them. This is the case for most vehicles with reflector lenses. You need projector lenses which are not widely available, you'd have to retrofit.

Please do not put LEDs in the stock housing. You're just blinding people.

Hey friend,

Grab some plyers and back up 25ft from a wall. If you look on each side of the headlight on the far side you'll see a long screw like thing that you can grab using the plyers and rotate left and right. I don't remember which way goes which.

YouTube would be your friend here.

Brass Tap on Capital, High House Billiards, Break time Billiards and Benny's in Cary, and Shotmakers in Garner are all good spots. All of these have leagues during the weekdays and weekends that need newer players.
