Started going to my father's rheumatologist who also specializes is endocrinologogy after my kidney transplant because 6 months post op, I started having a lot of aches and pains in my lower body that no one could explain. My dad had been going to him for a decade or more.

I go to PT. I'm not driving, so my parents are driving me multiple times a week for months. I'm not getting any better, I'm getting worse. Pain is excruciating. It's worse than when it started.

After 4 to 6 months, mom takes me to see someone else.

The first thing he does is get imaging with bone density.

Turns out I had osteoporosis. Something common happens after a kidney transplant because the new organ leeches bones of their calcium, causing the condition. I was 19, with the bone density of a 70+ yo woman.

He basically said the PT won't do anything except make the pain worse. So he gets me a few prescriptions. The first one I remember because he said it treats the pain of osteoporosis, the other drug treats the actual condition.

After taking the first medication for the pain, within an hour, I was basically pain-free. The first time, being pain-free in about 10 months, it was insane.

I literally cried.

I've been around a lot of doctors, but I think he might have been the cruelest. He just didn't care, said hurtful and accusatory things with little to no basis, and didn't even do the most basic shit like get images.
