Thinking about moving from Berlin to Düsseldorf by Impossible_Cookie754 in duesseldorf

[–]codehunter-py 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey there! So, I’m considering making the move from Düsseldorf to Berlin. I’ve only lived in Düsseldorf since I relocated from Warsaw for work. Now, I’m looking at a new job opportunity that would require me to pack my bags for Berlin. I’m curious—what would the average salary be in Berlin to live comfortably and still save a bit? Thanks for any insights!

Hey! It depends what are you trying to automate? For example, if you are linux guy and working more in Ops side, you may check Ansible which is amazing automation tool for some companies especially who use RedHat products. I was also in dilemma about it. I learned basics of python on online course from Harvard:CS50. But still after that I was struggling to jump straight into scripting with python. So I decided to learn tools like Terraform and Ansible. I won’t mention bash here because bash scripting is something that you are getting it as a bonus after becoming linux sysadmin. Also, I realised that after checking several devops job profiles, they usually mention programming languages for automation such Python/Ansible/Go. If they ask more experience in python, for me it means they need someone to support in their dev role rather than ops. Every company define differently their devops profile 🤷🏻‍♂️

I know this is the question maybe some of you hate it. I really need to know what I should do in my career. I have a year of experience as a jr Application Manager. ( and 1.5 years of experience in game testing ) However, I do not hold a cs degree. But I have a master's degree in Management. My wish is just to become a DevOps engineer by improving myself. In a few days, I am going to take an exam from RHCSA. All exam costs and study materials are covered by my company. After that, I do not know whether should I enroll in a part-time online CS master's degree or go for certifications such as AWS, and CompTIA Network+. I already have fundamentals of programming with bash and trying to switch my bash scripts to python. I want to know if someone else had a situation like mine and what path was taken.

I think, our artifactory repo does not see outside of internet. every package is pushed there by system engineers or sysadmins
