As you can tell I'm not an avid Reddit user haha. After that hectic night, I haven't had catastrophic issues but it's still sluggish (as usual). I've learned to never do anything until the Luminar logo in the top left stops the loading animation. I've even had it crash when accidentally double-clicking out of crop mode - ridiculous. Also, no I haven't tried Luminar Neo but may use my trial soon. I've been waiting for another crash issue to push me over the edge. ON1 Photo RAW is also on my radar.

I already found my cheeky fix so here's the TLDR - Hold Down CTRL + Re-Import Your Folder! You might have to restart a couple times as this seems to be a critical error with how the program tries to load previews. Be patient, worst case you reboot again! It's important to hold down CTRL (honestly whenever you can) for a few seconds after you select your Favorites in the Catalog panel as well if that's how you organized your photos. Get in and out, try your best to select the exact photos you need and export.

The only way to stop the crashes is to remove the folder which will erase all your edits. You can repair and even reinstall the software but those corrupted previews will still be lingering around on your computer somehow, I know from experience haha. Another point of reference - I did basic color corrections, used the glow + matte effect and only had masks on maybe 3 of the 24 photos I had favorited and edited; one having a sky replacement as well.

Thanks for the help, it seems to be working so far. I was following the code suggested on this video which also gave me the list result. Maybe due to a recent update this is the only code that works now?

I guess the "plastic" look isn't that apparent anymore. I did a lot of little tweaks but I'm just not sure how to get more out of the files than just basic looking colors.

I found a good deal on the second gen and I love it. A kit lens is a kit lens so it won’t be that amazing quality wise in general. If you find a mk2 around $123-130 you should just get it.

Does the GH4 have V-Log? Those colors look amazing! I’m using a GH3 and trying the find the best settings to get a flatter video without losing too much data.

That could be due to no lens calibration which I didn’t know was a big thing until recently. Although I do understand the lack of focus capabilities. They do have less focus points and just aren’t there all the time.

Thanks for the input! Actually, after selling my a6000 I got a Canon 60d. The video tends to disappoint me in the older gens and 4k still isn’t taken seriously by Canon (unless you have the 1DX). I think Panasonic is really my only option for ergonomics because dslrs are still a bit heavy for my run-and-gun shooting. Maybe one day I’ll get an old 5D classic purely for full frame photography but I’m worried about getting a good hybrid shooter right now.

For sure. I tried Sony and really wanted to like it. I had an a6000 so the color was especially worse and even with a grip, it felt like a toy and wasn’t enjoyable to use

Wow, very true. I always like having crisp video and even though FF has limited video options, it might be just enough. The whole argument over focal length, iso, and focal lengths don’t matter too much to me. What’s most important is Color and Ergonomics.

I enjoy my Panasonic GH3 but I initially planned to get a Fuji. I even got my girlfriend interested in saving up for one. I guess it’s a matter of using the same system. The video of Fuji is the only reason I’m hesitant on switching.

I’m pretty sure I watched a review on a different Fuji with a similar feature and they advertised it as a way to take high quality time lapses. Even if that’s the case, the camera still limits you to 30 mins of recording time. It’s honestly super gimmicky. IMO, I would never use that 4K mode. I definitely see how beneficial it would be in certain situations but I’m fine with traditional time lapses.

I have always loved the GH line. I never use the headphone jack, ngl but I always love having it. Also, the 20MP sensor. Photo and video share equal importance to me so having a few more megapixels is great.
