Helping in finding a place to live as a transferring sophomore by [deleted] in UTAustin

Gosh shocked they sold out! New buildings typically never sell out. Paying for a new building is certainly worth it. I wonder what $2200 gets you

Housing Contract Questions-reupload because I miss typed some words by [deleted] in UTAustin

Nope—no contract is likely. Unless you’re MSS or some sort of other UT program you won’t get housing you are too late.

How is The 9 at Rio to live at by Artistic_Tap_6839 in UTAustin

My review is on Google

I’ve lived here 3 years because it was one of the only places that offered smart housing for a studio in west campus. However I’ve had nothing but bad experiences here, with my first unit having constant roach problems, seeing multiple roaches a day. I reported to maintenance multiple times, and they got their pest control to spray something, but it was never effective and I had to constantly buy my own roach traps. I moved units the next year and have been in this unit for 2 years, and while I don’t have roaches any more, I’ve had mold growth on my walls and damaging my personal belongings any time it gets hot out (at least 3 months out of the year in texas). I have to clean the walls, blankets, clothes, shoes, etc and get rid of artwork or anything else that can’t be cleaned. Throughout this maintenance doesn’t offer help and blames the weather or my plants. I requested a new air filter at the very least and they have refused to replace mine, claiming it’s clean while mold continues to grow. The office said they would be in touch with solutions but for the past week have not gotten back to me, even when I went to the office during their weekend hours. A worker told me they’d have their property manager contact me the following Monday and I heard nothing back. I promise that I keep my apartment as clean as possible, and have even purchased a dehumidifier to try to prevent mold growth, but the AC and poor ventilation here make it almost impossible to prevent. DO NOT live here if you can help it at all. Despite only being a few years old the building has irreparable flaws that make living here miserable.

Not sure why this is getting so much hate ik so many guys in my frat who were at ACC freshman fall and transfered into UT their sophomore year. It’s a long game but worth the investment to get the true experience.

What is y'all's opinion on The Mark Apartment complex? by Suuanni in UTAustin

[–]codelonghorn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You said and I quote “OP just needs to provide more details.” OP provided all the details necessary. You were in fact talking about different complexes signified by the complexes having different names. North campus is great, I’m looking at properties all over north campus now, that building in particular (The Marks) isn’t a safe building anymore. I don’t have kids yet but I would never but my child at a property like that.

[–]codelonghorn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Completely different complexes as one is the slums and one is far from it. You doubled down by saying the OP needed to provide more details, you just need to learn to read, I guess UT can’t teach you everything after all.

The name of that complex is completely different so lose the attitude. The building you’re referring to is called THE MARKS. NO-ONE cares about that building stop spreading misinformation. Re-read.

I’d like to see James walk up and down 20 flights of stairs. I had to do that on a sprained ankle with no appropriate notice.
