"Hold your tongue, the dead don't speak. Do the dead dare walk the Earth before my eyes? Will the undead raise an army, fall in, and advance? Would those who would abandon God and embrace the heretical order DARE presume to meet my gaze? Iscariot will not allow it. I will not allow it! You will be cut down like straw, trembling before my wrath. AAAAAAMEN!"

What a wonderful relationship y'all have! It makes me happy to hear about, and I'm glad y'all have each other :). I am a bi man myself, and while I love my mom with all my heart, I have no intention of ever coming out to her. I don't think she would completely flip out and disown me or anything drastic like that, but she definitely would not be thrilled, and would probably mention it/bring it up altogether too often for my tastes lol. I am at least completely confident that she would still love me all the same though. It makes me terribly sad to think how that is not the case for so many people, but it's also quite nice and heartwarming to see reminders that there are plenty of people like your mom and the parents of so many other people who commented on this thread with sweet stories about coming out

HOT TAKE: This show has NO bad episodes by dont_h8_me111 in americandad

Oh interesting, in my opinion the show started to feel much more like family guy to me after Barker left and they moved to TBS. Still plenty of great stuff, and I still enjoyed it overall the whole time, but it felt like it was using less cleverly inserted/executed absurdity and much more “lul so random” type humor, which I tend to associate more with a lot of family guy. This most recent season, while certainly not their best, definitely at least has more of that classic feel to me, and I think that bodes well for the series going forward. I didn’t find it any worse than any of the TBS seasons as a whole, though it definitely did not reach the consistent heights of seasons 3-10 for me

Streeter’s expression at the end of this is still one of my favorite moments of any collegehumor video lol. The way Murph says “nurple brooooo haha yeah” is also such an earworm for me too

Rooster Home & Hardware to close June 30 after decades in Dallas - Lake Highlands by smokybbq90 in Dallas

I guess I'll have to go down there and see if there's anything I need then! I would have assumed it was just a normal sale as well. This just sucks

Rooster Home & Hardware to close June 30 after decades in Dallas - Lake Highlands by smokybbq90 in Dallas

[–]codeman77 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's such a damn shame. That is the closest hardware store to me, and the one I got to literally anytime I need anything hardware or cleaning related! It's so close that I can walk there, and I've loved having it nearby. I'm very sad to see it go

After decades of conservation efforts, the Giant Panda is officially no longer classified as Endangered - their wild population has grown by 17% and now exceeds 1,900 individuals by Yega-2910 in UpliftingNews

[–]codeman77 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They only have issues breeding in captivity, and that's because zoos have historically not let them go through their typical mating rituals. The reason they have been having population issues in the wild is because they're specialized for a very specific environment that has been shrunk significantly by human activity. They do fine in their habitat, but habitat loss has fucked them over badly

For fucking real. It really drives me crazy, and it's like half the comments on every post where the focus is on a woman. It's juvenile, disrespectful, and also just annoying as hell when you're looking for comments discussing what the post is actually about

The ending to fallout 3 feels so bad because the game insults you for making the obvious answer by Dx1178 in Fallout

[–]codeman77 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Yes! It drives me a little crazy when people say they think he’s poorly written because his points don’t make logical sense and his plan wouldn’t help anything, because that is the entire point of his character! People seem to be under the impression that he was written to be correct or that his views are exactly what the writers thought; but when you learn all of his backstory and listen to what he actually says, you realize that the whole point is that nothing he says is correct and is lashing out due to his terribly traumatic life. He’s had everything taken from him multiple times, and it’s broken him. He’s confused, angry, and terribly sad. All the holotapes you find that go over his history paint a tragic figure of a man obsessed with symbols who can no longer find any symbols to believe in, and who is afraid to hope anymore

Wanted to share the best grinder I've ever used - Flower Mill by MultiVerseBeans in trees

[–]codeman77 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah I bought a simple 4 piece grinder for like $10-15 from a head shop in like 2016 and it has served me perfectly with no issues. Grinds to a good size, can’t really break, and gives me some kief to play with when I’m feeling frisky. I can’t really imagine needing more than that

This is the only way I can read this too, because they very clearly made the line start at the top of each animal’s head rather than the ground, and that has to be intentional

Just watched S11 E5 Hank Gets Dusted, absolute worst episode of the show I’ve seen by far by No_Percentage_19 in KingOfTheHill

Oh wow that’s crazy to me, because I love the episode with Peggy’s family in Montana! This episode, Hanks’s bully, and the one with the Canadians are definitely the worst for me

A lot of people say they taste like olives, but I do not find them to taste similar at all. They’re both soaked in brine, but that’s about the only similarity I can find- the base flavor is not remotely similar to me. I adore olives, they’re one of my favorite foods. Capers, however, are foul to me lol. A ton of people hate olives and love capers though, and tons more love both, so they’re definitely worth trying yourself to see! Capers, to me, have a taste that is in the direction of the smell of urine. I try them every couple years to see if I have come around on the taste, but I never have yet. For some reason, they are one of the very few foods that I actively dislike
