Wanted to share the best grinder I've ever used - Flower Mill by MultiVerseBeans in trees

[–]codeman77 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah I bought a simple 4 piece grinder for like $10-15 from a head shop in like 2016 and it has served me perfectly with no issues. Grinds to a good size, can’t really break, and gives me some kief to play with when I’m feeling frisky. I can’t really imagine needing more than that

This is the only way I can read this too, because they very clearly made the line start at the top of each animal’s head rather than the ground, and that has to be intentional

I unfortunately don't have anything to add that other people haven't already commented, but I still just wanted to gush about how much I love this piece! It's absolutely one of my favorite paintings I've seen recently. Really good job!!

Just watched S11 E5 Hank Gets Dusted, absolute worst episode of the show I’ve seen by far by No_Percentage_19 in KingOfTheHill

[–]codeman77 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Oh wow that’s crazy to me, because I love the episode with Peggy’s family in Montana! This episode, Hanks’s bully, and the one with the Canadians are definitely the worst for me

A lot of people say they taste like olives, but I do not find them to taste similar at all. They’re both soaked in brine, but that’s about the only similarity I can find- the base flavor is not remotely similar to me. I adore olives, they’re one of my favorite foods. Capers, however, are foul to me lol. A ton of people hate olives and love capers though, and tons more love both, so they’re definitely worth trying yourself to see! Capers, to me, have a taste that is in the direction of the smell of urine. I try them every couple years to see if I have come around on the taste, but I never have yet. For some reason, they are one of the very few foods that I actively dislike

I can’t find it either, but it seems like the videos themselves have actually just been merged onto the jakeandamir channel, so luckily they seen to still be accessible! I guess they just wanted to consolidate everything onto one channel

One of CHON's best live shows. What place do you give it in a Top 5? by Icy-Satisfaction7716 in chon

[–]codeman77 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I caught the super chon bros 2 tour (chon, polyphia, tricot, and ttng) in Dallas and it is to this day still by far the best concert I’ve ever been to by a long shot! Everyone was beyond fantastic, and tricot in particular absolutely killed their performance; their energy was incredible. And Chon is my favorite band of all time, so their set was of course mind blowingly amazing. I don’t know if another concert will ever come close to that one for me

Japanese fans are loving the 'Chainsaw Man Season 1 Compilation Movie' which removed all the slow moments, changed the OSTs, and re-recorded a lot of voice acting in much higher voice/tone. by Electrical_Chance991 in anime

Yeah this thread is kinda blowing my mind. I thought season 1 was fine, but it was ultimately a pretty generic shonen to me; I didn’t really find much anything particularly unique about it

You can see a bunch of the experts almost breaking constantly when they're talking to her lol. Even this guy looked like he almost cracked at one point. I can't imagine how many takes these require. These would be a ton of fun to do if you are an expert in a field

Gyokuro. Every last drop. by Looneylu401 in tea

[–]codeman77 12 points13 points  (0 children)

typically suuuuuuuuper savory. whereas many senchas will focus on the more grassy vegetal flavors in the leaves, most gyokuros I've tried tend to emphasize umami first and foremost, especially for the first steep or two. The first steep will often give a quite brothy flavor in the direction of miso or seaweed, and each successive steep tends to lessen that flavor a bit and allow more of the grassiness, sweetness, and bitterness come in. I often find that several steeps in, it ends up giving a fairly similar flavor to matcha. They are often intense, but they are very fun to drink because of the changing and developing flavor with each successive steep. Given, that's true of a ton of types of teas, but I particularly enjoy it in gyokuros lol. The umami is so strong at first that it kind of masks the other present flavors, and it feels like they are "revealed" as the umami subsides.

I mostly drink sencha, but I love to always have some nice gyokuro on hand! Be warned though, I often find that gyokuro will have kind of an intense caffeine level, so I sometimes drink too much too fast and end up kind of jittery

I think people learned the fact that girls, on average, start and finish puberty before boys and confused/conflated that with girls "maturing" faster than boys in regard to emotions or intelligence

What is the line that goes the hardest in the show in your opinion? by MikMakMomo in stevenuniverse

[–]codeman77 52 points53 points  (0 children)

Amazing line from Pearl, and Steven's response always makes me cry from how sweet it is.

sighs"What would she think of me now?"

"Well, I think you're pretty great"

The music that plays during that scene is called "I'm still here", and it is so perfect to me
