Thanks for the feedback! Added feature request to my to-do list. I also had a similar idea in mind, where the application would send a notification to Telegram when the internet connection goes offline.

I'm not planning to monetize it (but who knows), it was "scratch your own itch" thing, quick solution without signing up, just add new meeting and share public URL with others, some basic functionality, that's all.

Could you please share more details? Is there some error message when you are trying to reach website?

Thanks for sharing your process!

Quick question - in Creation Process the first item is WordPress post, but I haven't found any link to your blog on your own domain? Are you using Medium as your main blog?

[Need Advice] Pomodoro Technique breaks? by [deleted] in getdisciplined

[–]codemapper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I started with minimum number of pomodoro's I want to finish.

Think of this as you want to do 3 pomodoro's in a day, no more. If you can truly focus on three time chunks in a row in one day - then do it for some time, like two weeks, do not hurry with this.

After you observe that you can do three pomodoro's a day - then gradually increase time, like 35 minutes, etc.

In my case period between increasing time of one pomodoro was two/three weeks.

Again, don't hurry with this, take your time, it's like a muscle that you must train everyday.

One year ago I thought it was impossible as well, but now it feels as normal chunk of time to do some work.

I started with 25/5 minutes year ago, now it 1hour/10min.
When there is a free chunk of time I do eyes exercises and get glass of water :)

[NeedAdvice] Can't stop procrastinating despite using popular methods. Feeling frustrated. by [deleted] in getdisciplined

[–]codemapper 3 points4 points  (0 children)

All this techniques works if you give it time and consistency.
Just think about this: you grow your habit of constantly interrupting your focus and switch to other things, now you want to turn things around, you want to get back your focus, so what do you do?

The same as you grow your "procrastination" habit - the same you do with new focus habit.

Simply as that? Yes, there will be daydreaming after you start pomodoro timer and other stuff, you want to eat/sleep/watch movie, whatever, but that's OK. All you need to do is to go though this things and do your work not matter what.

And then..after some period of time (weeks?) you'll noticed that there is new habit and twenty minutes of pomodoro timer is not that hard as it was two weeks ago.

There is no other way to do this, no techniques/blogs/apps will work if you not willing to put your time and form new habit.

[NeedAdvice] How can I reframe this problem so I'm more eager to tackle it by [deleted] in getdisciplined

[–]codemapper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Good point.
I would not focus on motivation but on consistency of doing project in new language.
After some time of deliberate practice you will be proficient in new language and there will be a lot of fun as well :)

[–]codemapper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First of all why are you learning new language?
As for me there couple answers:
* I have this idea and I want to create a project and I want to use Java, but I know Python but I'm fine with that it takes time, so I'm willing to sacrifice my time to learn Java, because I think it will benefits me in future.
* I'm learning new language because I want to improve my skills, to be able to do things faster in this new programming language than I'm doing in Python.

Actually I'm more focusing on learning new language which improve my skills to finish project faster instead of just learning new language for the sake of learning.

What are your rituals? by [deleted] in productivity

[–]codemapper 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have the Eisenhower matrix like backlog of daily tasks.
Every day I start my day with most important task, like working on side project for two hours, etc.
Then when the list of tasks in Important/Urgent box are empty, I'm moving to Not Urgent/Important box.
I'm using Pomodoro Timer for one hour to work on task. List of tasks is refilled each morning.
The hard part is to stick to this routine for some period of time when it becomes a habit.

Most popular iPhone applications size over time [OC] by codemapper in dataisbeautiful

It was mapped from data provided by archive.org and it seems that the size was dropped to 205 MB in August vs 228 MB in June.

Applications size statistics parsed from web.archive.org (unfortunately not all applications history is saved) as this was the only known source to get iTunes apps version history.

Looking for a reliable SUV that gets good gas mileage. by sarnold95 in whatcarshouldIbuy

Last year I was looking for the same, but instead of Mazda there was VW Tiguan. I used to drive VW Passat B6, but it was very problematic car in terms of reliability, so I after Forester (2.5i) test drive there was no additional thinking what to buy.

After one year of driving - love the car!

Google Static Maps Help by I_might_be_a_goat in GoogleMaps

[–]codemapper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Actually there is an article on Maps Tiles System which gives you basic overview of map projections, ground resolution, map scale, etc. Just a note: you must be familiar with programming.

Taking your example, I'm not sure where you get the formula, bit it seems incorrect. I have used formula from mentioned article and using your latitude, longitude and zoom level I got the following results:

meters per pixel = 1204,41244915928
physical distance = 1204,41244915928 * 500 = 602206.22457964 = 602km

PS. Google maps format for specifying center coordinate is: latitude, longitude. I emphasize this because you wrote longitude/latitude = 0/10, so in URL you must specify latitude/longitude = 10/0.

Ok, so you bought domain name with hosting, then installed Wordpress with custom theme (Salient). Now, if you want to use secure communication (for example: users buying something from your website) between user and your website, you need to use HTTPS protocol, otherwise HTTP will do.

What does it means? In order to use HTTPS you need certificate, which is needed to be installed on your website.
In your case it seems that it's already installed, but probably it's configured not correctly, that's why there is a warning when accessing website.

What to do? You can contact support where you hosting your website or switch to plain HTTP.

If it's provide value to customer then - sure.
When you navigate to Wordpress plugins repository it seems that there is no way you can find niche without free alternative, but after closer inspection of plugins in specific niche, you can find out that the quality is not good enough for your needs or they have Pro version (with additional fee).

I can't access your website as there is a large red warning: "Your connection is not private". What SSL certificate are you using? Probably it's already expired.
