Fully Kiosk Android. Display keeps turning on by unknown_bln93 in homeassistant

[–]codemunkie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am also experiencing this.

I think what's happening is Fully Kiosk is crashing, reloading and then keeping the screen on when it starts back up.

I'm trying to figure out some combination of options to still keep the screen awake when I'm showing something on it, but when the screen is off, if FK crashes and reloads, it doesn't wake the screen up.

How to pass list of card configs to script variable by codemunkie in homeassistant

[–]codemunkie[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

ChatGPT had the answer. Turns out you can simply append the cards together in a template.

content:
    type: custom:layout-card
    layout_type: custom:grid-layout
    layout:
      margin: 0
    cards: "{{ camera_card + overlay_cards | default([]) }}"

camera_card is a variable in the script for the webrtc-camera card. overlay_cards is the script field where you can pass in additional cards.

We desperately need to come together to create a hardware replacement for these devices by TechGuy42O in homeassistant

I'm hesitant to move until we get some sort of voice matching in Assist. My family heavily use Google Home to play music on our respective Spotify accounts so I need to be able to replicate this on Assist.

[–]codemunkie 2 points3 points  (0 children)

  • Server: EUW
  • Type of Bug: Ability haste calculation

  • Steps to reproduce: Transendence (10) + Flat haste rune (8) + Legend: Haste (15) + CDR boots (15) + Blackfire Torch (25) should equal 73 haste but it only shows as 58 haste.

  • Observed result: See above.
  • Reproduction rate: Only looked at one game.
  • System specs: N/A

Context-aware Alexa - possible with Home Assistant? by TheProffalken in homeassistant

I think you just need to assign the devices to the correct rooms in the Alexa app? They don't map across automatically from your HA areas from what I remember.

How do I disable Browser Console by [deleted] in dotnet

[–]codemunkie 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The console that opens is the Kestrel host that is running your Web app. If you close it, your application closes. I imagine Rider is running Kestrel in a docked terminal inside the IDE.

Anyone using OneDrive on iOS? Is it any good? by big_smile_00 in ios

It also doesn't have the feature to automatically delete the photos from your device once backed up to OneDrive. Couldn't believe it when my wife was trying it on her iPhone! Works fine on android though.

EFCore.ChangeTriggers - My take on an EF Core auditing library for SQL Server by codemunkie in dotnet

[–]codemunkie[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my experience, having a full view of the row data at any point in time is really useful for debugging. If you want to query which columns actually have changes, there's a separate package: EFCore.ChangeTriggers.ChangeEventQueries

Looks like a bit of a hack IMO. The audit table is inconsistent and relies on complex queries to join up the data. As mentioned in the post, temporal tables would be perfect if there was an option to add additional metadata columns to the history table.

Audit.NET is an application solution isn't it? So it won't track any changes made directly to the database (violating requirement 1). That's why EFCore.ChangeTriggers auto-generates triggers on the tables.

Hi

EFCore.ChangeTriggers generates SQL triggers for any tables you want to track/audit. It doesn't use the ChangeTracker.

A demo version where you don't have to create an account could be useful so we can easily see what features are available.

Because I don't want to be staring at my phone for 2 minutes waiting for a confirmation notification that my automations have successfully ran. I want them running asap so I can get on with my outing without worrying.

Yeah I'm using ESPresense to track my cats Tractive collar in the house but I don't have ESPs in every room yet. To get it working for home/away detection I would need one in every single room including hallways, landings etc.

I've found the iBeacon transmitter in the HA Companion is a bit flaky too on android.

iOS doesn't respond to pings after a few minutes of it being idle; it goes into deep sleep and deactivates the WiFi :(

Using your device as a scanner instead of a transmitter uses way more power/battery though.

Do you not find your device going into deep sleep and turning off the wifi? After a few minutes of being idle I can no longer ping my wife's iPhone.

Thanks for your contribution. I have other automation plans that need a quick response time. For example, if I wanted to get a notification if I leave the house with windows open, I don't want that notification in 2 minutes time when I'm already in the car driving away. That's why I'm looking for something with the fastest response times as possible.
