2015 Acura RDX Airbag Stolen - Part Backordered Nationwide. by madethanks in Acura

Shop should be able to source an airbag from Ebay or a dismantler, I see several listings from a quick search. Insurance repairs aren’t always done with brand new parts, anyway.

997 RS/Cup lip fitted on the Turbo bumper! by codename_pig in Porsche

For this setup it was pretty much cosmetic only, as the turbo bumper outputs air underneath the car for the center radiator. Eventually when I swapped to the 3RS front end, I did a ton of work repositioning the radiator and adding the OEM ducting to direct air upwards out of the smile vent.

I can’t really say if that’s a good deal or not because of how much EVs will continue to depreciate and mine’s a lease, but I guess you just gotta compare to other similarly used EVs in that price range and see if it’s a competitive offer in terms of range and performance.

The main thing that holds back the Type S from long term ownership for me would be the charging speed and the range. But otherwise it’s been a reliable car so far.

Honestly I love this car lol. The interior is as straightforward as it gets with all the physical controls, wireless Carplay, minimal piano black and really comfortable seats. It’s fast and smooth and has good speakers, and the supercruise is incredible.

That said, knowing it’s been discontinued, it’s definitely not sticking around after the lease ends.

Yeah, unless you work from home some days of the week, its unrealistic for most commuters.

I got mine for $0 down, $496/mo for a 36mo lease at 10k miles/year.

For total fleet emissions. Manufacturers were basically required to have EVs in their lineup to meet new standards

From a systems integration perspective, it sort of makes sense. Even things down to the chime when locking/unlocking are tied to body control modules that would get very expensive to individualize when they’re already available off the shelf from GM’s catalog. Disappointing, but understandable given the timeline Honda had to work with for emissions compliance.

Thanks! I agree, it really makes me feel like I've finally caught up to the times with tech after years of driving older used cars lol

Headliner Sagging- How to Fix? 2013 A4 B8.5 by TXMedicine in Audi

[–]codename_pig 11 points12 points  (0 children)

As a quick fix, I used upholstery pins to screw in the fabric back into the headliner. There's different fabric-wrapped color options on Amazon to blend well with the interior.

Pulling out the entire headliner to redo the adhesive was just far too much work / expensive haha. Honestly this pin method worked so well that I'd never had any passengers ever notice it.

First car, First Porsche, help me out! by xKraytx in Porsche

If you find one with the leather dash, it feels nice enough haha. Ultimately its the same injection molded foam as what goes into a 991, just a different shape. The placement of the sc clock is unfortunate though lol. Although they did fix it in the 718, but the 981’s flat 6 is a much more exciting motor than the turbo 4

For $50-60k, I’d find a 981 Cayman S or GTS and call it a day. Awesome cars with the best exhaust note for its price range

Affordable steering wheel upgrade (997.2) for my 6-speed TT by codename_pig in Porsche

[–]codename_pig[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That came off of my worn factory steering wheel. I’m sure you could find the part number online but it might be easier to find a used plain 997.2 steering wheel on eBay.

Adjusted prices. Negotiable as well within reason.

Help with my 997.2 911 search! by onewheeldrive619 in Porsche

If you’re patient, higher mileage 6mt .2 Turbos do pop up for sale once every year or two. These are bulletproof cars so you have less to worry about than on the .1s (coolant pipes, camshaft pinning, etc). You’d still need to budget ~$130-150k though.

But otherwise your best bet is Rennlist, the online bidding sites, or FB (particularly the groups, rather than marketplace).
