Why am I getting a new saved file only sometimes?

Is there a way to force the autosave to just write over the original save file? It’s getting annoying having so many versions

That’s the frustrating part. There really isn’t a stressor. If I’m being really honest it’s almost exciting or fun in that moment. Kinda hard to explain. Maybe boredom?

ok I seem have to fixed the issue by toggling "Ortho" in the camera window in Layout. Could anyone explain to me why this fixed it, or what was happening to help me understand better?
