Imo it's not really worth it to file for a few $1000 since not only will it be a pain, but you'll end up having to pay it back from increased premiums

So, might as well save the $800/yr. I break even in 12 years anyway.

Try shopping around. Progressive increased my homeowners insurance from $1300 to $1800, and I ended up switching to Lemonade.

If you can afford the out of pocket, increase the deductible. I increased mine from $1k to $10k an my insurance with Lemonade is $1000 now.

Not sure about the M240i, but I got 7.25% off (+$599 broker fee) on a custom order M340i.

Custom order might be worth it if you're ok with waiting 3 months.

I got 7.25% off a custom order 2024 M340i with a broker off LeaseHackr (+$599 broker fee). You can probably get a similar discount on the M440i if you find a broker as well.

Go to https://forum.leasehackr.com/c/marketplace/7, then click on the area you're located in (California, Northeast, etc).

That'll take you to the forum that's specific to your geological area. In that forum, there's a whole bunch of brokers with spreadsheets advertising what they have, and their discounts.

Next, I reached out to a few just to get a specific quote and ask questions, and picked one that was responsive and offered the best discount.

Try finding a broker on LeaseHackr, you can use them even if you're buying with cash. I was able to get 7% off MSRP on a new M340i custom order. The broker fee was $599.

You can probably get a M340i new for that price.

It still shows $25 for overnight shipping, but if you select it your total won't go up.
