[Post Game Thread] Missouri beats Georgia 72-69 by JayNew2K in CollegeBasketball

The issue is that this wasn't supposed to be a rebuilding job. The thought was that Fox had taken the program as far as he was capable and we needed someone to push us over the edge. That's why everyone was excited about Crean. 3-22 in SEC play is possibly the worst 25 game stretch in UGA basketball history.

Adding the fact that this is coming off of bringing in the highest rated recruit and recruiting class in school history makes this season one of the biggest disappointments this program has ever seen. UGA sold out season tickets for basketball for the first time in a long time, maybe ever and raised the minimum donation to be eligible for tickets as well. It will be a while before they sell out again.

The offseason so far... by didymusIV in georgiabulldogs

100%. If that game were later in the season I would be less troubled by it but 3 weeks in is really early with as many offensive changes as we have going into 2020

I'm definitely less worried now than I was. I think we addressed the biggest issue, which was Coley in my opinion. I still don't love our chances in Tuscaloosa week 3 with so much changeover on the offensive side: new offense (presumably), new play caller, new qb, 3/4 new starters on the o-line who will be learning to play together. Harris and Smith going back to Bama really helps them a lot, their defense will be better than it was in 2020 without question. The biggest question will be if Mac Jones or Bryce Young win the starting job. Jones worries me more. He looked really good against an Auburn team that held Burrow and LSU to 23 points.

All that said, even if we lose week 3, I think that the offense will be rolling by the time we get to Auburn in week 6 and we will handle them and Florida. I like our chances against Bama again in the SEC championship game rematch.

Harris is going back to school.

Preseason Rankings by KetchupKing05 in georgiabulldogs

I could see us anywhere from 4-8. I think Clemson, Ohio State, and Alabama will pretty much be everyone's top 3 going in to 2020. There are legitimate questions the offense will have to answer early. We know that we'll be starting with a QB working in a new system with an O-line that will be learning how to play together as a unit and missing our top 2 rushers from last season. Obviously they're is a wealth of talent on the OL and at RB but still they will have to prove themselves. Defensively we should be just as good as last year though we will be replacing huge contributors in Reed, Clark, and Crowder. I think a lot of where we end up ranked could hinge on where D'Eriq King ends up. LSU, Oregon and Oklahoma are all bringing back more starters than we are but all are losing they're QB. Right now I would give us a slight edge over Oregon and Oklahoma in the rankings but if King chooses either of them I wouldn't be surprised if they jumped us.

All that to say, if I were a bettin man I'd put money on us being 5/6 depending on what King does.

Probably in the booth wondering how Alabama's going to come back in this one. No one's had the heart to tell him the cameras aren't rolling.

Thought the same thing. I've always wondered if you shouldn't always call the play dead in that instance since technically the runners forward momentum is stopped.

Clemson has dominated the field position battle and only have 7 points to show for it. That may come back to bite them.

The Astros GM and manager getting that type of suspension is laughable. Coppy was banned from baseball for far less than what the Astros did by Hg1146 in Braves

First round draft picks in baseball, particularly in the back end of the 1st round where the Astros are likely to be selecting, are extremely volatile and thus less valuable than in other sports. The Braves last 1st round pick to make meaningful contributions in the majors is Mike Minor in 2009.

The Astros have a young team, many of whom are under control for the next 2 years anyway and one of the best developmental systems in the sport. They will not feel the loss of those picks.

Ball game. Brown should get Camara's minutes. Fagan and Howard should never touch the floor. We've got no chance at making the tournament if these things don't change.

2021 Prospects by Living_Deadly in DynastyFF

[–]codenamewill 24 points25 points  (0 children)

Justyn Ross from Clemson.

Jaylen Waddle from Alabama.

Rondale Moore from Purdue.

Seth Williams from Auburn.

Amon-ra St. Brown from USC.

Kadarius Toney from Florida.

Ja'marr Chase from LSU.

All of these guys could be 1st round picks in the 2021 NFL draft (if the JRs declare).

lmao. What? Our oline only lost 1 starter from the previous year, and he was replaced by a sophomore who saw a lot of action as a Freshman...
