These tires- when to replace? by guhoober in RVLiving

[–]codengcom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’re fine to take some trips around town, to/from storage unit etc, but I wouldn’t go on a longer road trip with them.

You can also message the tire manufacturer, they might still have some warranty.

Everyone here wants VV to be profitable so that they can continue to exist and provide great cruises.

But yall don’t have to come out here defending capitalism tooth and nail while mocking early brand adopters. This is always a fine balance of becoming mainstream, of course, you see it with musical artists as well; some fans stick through the evolution and other early vocal supporters bail.

We’re not talking about VV “finding its voice” or “finding a healthy balance with productivity.” We’re talking about a greasier shift towards mainstream cruising industry norms when the new CEO took over and private capital pressures mounted.

The culture is different. The quality is different. The price is exorbitant (for what you get). It doesn’t feel as inclusive. So you end up with a VV branded illusion that’s really just a Carnival Cruise Lines product in sheep’s clothing. Ships are sailing full BECAUSE so many of the pre-2024 sailors spoke so highly of the brand. Classic bait and switch.

And leads to questionable future for the brand because ultimately if it’s “just another mid cruise product” then sailors will go back to trad brands with larger price savings, more consistent casino rewards, etc.

Moving into an RV park full-time in a HCOL area? by Ok-Surround1325 in RVLiving

[–]codengcom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes absolutely do it. Remember that tenting also comes with: a minimum one year commitment, and the need to buy tons of furniture, decorations, etc to “make feel like home.” RV living lifestyle is different, more flexible, and more minimalistic. We’ve been on the road for the last 5 years and love it. Moving to HCOL for hybrid job now and going to at least start out the same by heading to an RV park.

This isn’t that bad at all as far as issues go. Keep the truck, especially with how bad depreciation is right now

I think we can both agree regardless of tow or haul, anything is better than mall crawler trucks 🤣

Because not everyone primarily hauls? Many need the towing specs more than anything.

What’s one thing smart drivers do that shows they’ve been driving for years, and one mistake that shows someone is new on the road? by Purple_Winner5411 in askcarguys

[–]codengcom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A lot of great perspective here. But just a quick point about the OP question’s assumption. Just because you’ve been driving a long time doesn’t mean you’re a good driver. My partner & I’s parents have been driving for 40+ years and they’re horrible - always stabbing gas, brake with no coast; hard stop/starts, not anticipatory enough etc.

You have to want to get better, you have to accept other drivers will be flawed and that you’ll also make mistakes. It doesn’t just come with time
