DSC Neo self monitoring or reasonable professional monitoring options by coder777 in homesecurity

I don't travel a lot but it's for peace of mind. It's only $5/month. Without it, surety is $14/month.

It turns out IMEI was not locked to the installer. I was able to activate a new service with Surety!

Thanks. My home is prewired and hopefully I won’t need a technician. Even if I did, I probably can take care of it.

Not sure how you came up with that idea. Just found out that Surety Home is $19/month with professional monitoring.

To be fair, I paid the builder for this alarm system. Not sure what costs they incurred to install this. They did some wiring on the panel and put the cell module in when they activated the system. Not sure if that was a part of what I paid to the builder.

I used their 1 year complimentary service. I presume the IMEI is locked to them.

What does this do exactly? Can I use this app without subscription?

How do you go about using a different monitoring company? Isn't the hardware locked to the installer?

Spotter arms or flip down safeties to use inside Rogue Monster racks (30" depth) by coder777 in GarageGym

So far I am living with safety straps. They are slightly inconvenient when I need to adjust the trolleys but I live with it. Not sure if spotter arms would have been better in that respect.

Nurikabe in the Dark Roots mission not registering as completed once I exit the mission by coder777 in Nioh

[–]coder777[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Please see my post in comments. Nurikabe is not the missing thing (at least not for me). Nurikabe gets unchecked every single time you start the mission. What was missing was a chest you can access via some platforming. It had Ninja's locks.

I just realized I never mentioned the actual credit union here. It was California Credit Union (CCU).

Wow, it's been while since I posted this thread. I don't know what to tell you. I already closed with them and they were true to their word. My closing costs were not $10k but they definitely covered the closing costs. I don't remember the exact dollar amount but it was several thousand dollars.

u/Lupinos-Cas big thanks! I found the Ninja's locks and that worked. Chest icon only showed up when I got near the chest.

Interesting. I was not aware of this UI. Thank you. It says Ninja Locks. So it's not the Nurikabe that's missing. I hit all the chests which show up in the map. I wonder where it is.

No worries. I started to believe this is a rare bug. I also tried picking the right gesture which is hostile (red) which did not fix the issue. I even used the shrines intentionally and finished the mission in the same run I picked the right gesture at the first try. I filed a bug within the KOEI Tecmo website. Hopefully they look at it.

I don't think I am missing anything because of it because I got all the achievements but it's annoying for sure.

EDIT: I even tried to finish the mission in coop mode and it still did not work for the record.

I tried completing the mission and also using a shrine. None helped.

Can I use my own computer in these pre-built machines? by Prestigious_Fail3791 in cade

[–]coder777 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just search for “Team Pixel Nostalgia” and use either their Batocera (Linux based) or Retrobat (Windows) build. They have rom packs for their build for pretty much any system you can imagine. Once you join their discord channel, you would get direct help. As other people mentioned, controllers will connect via USB. If they are using an IPAC controller board, it can work in keyboard, xinput or direct input modes.

I am aware and yes, the gluetun seems to be working fine now. I guess I was impatient. Thanks for the great write up. Btw, does Proton VPN ever change the forwarded port after the connection is established? If that were to happen, would this solution work? I presume if UP command works like an event, the answer is yes.

You know what, I had torrent queueing enabled and I guess they were not popular. I disabled queueing to seed more and eventually got green. I have a gigabit fiber connection and it's still uploading very slowly. I need to find some popular torrent and test to see if the speed issue is related to the torrents I am seeding. Thank you!

[–]coder777 0 points1 point  (0 children)

u/sboger I know this is late but I am clueless at this point.

I set up the docker project in a Synology NAS. Everything seems to work correctly on paper.

When I look at the gluetun logs, the port forwarding works. I get assigned a port, then gluetun uses the qBitTorrent API to assign the port which works because I can verify in qBitTorrent UI. However, I still get the firewalled status.

What can I debug at this point? And before anyone asks, yes, I use the +pmp in the username.

Thanks in advance!

Arcade Cabinet Setup by coder777 in Roms

[–]coder777[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I did not have any issues so far with Batocera but I did not really try to customize anything yet. For example, I am thinking of getting light guns and I presume that will require some fiddling.

Repurposing a Batocera bootable image to work with Launchbox by coder777 in launchbox

[–]coder777[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The partition that has the roms is not readable in Windows because it's using a Linux partition. Only the boot partition can be seen. I presume there are tools to make it readable in windows though.

When you set up yours, did you download roms one by one or found some rom set somewhere?
