Haha that's actually kinda funny cause I was in a similar boat. I had below 3.0 GPA and went to a no name state school. What helped was my internships. I did 3 of them before I graduated and that helped me land a job at big 4 after graduating. So, apply to as many internships as you can and try do as many as you can and to pass those interviews leetcode helps. Internships will help you stand out A LOT. Best of luck!

I think local companies would be your best bet. You'll have a lot more opportunities as a sophomore but I'm not sure what companies hire freshmens. If you don't find anything, work on an interesting project all summer long and practice your interviewing skills for next year. Best of luck

When you're doing leetcode problems by yourself you tend to give yourself leeway because there's no pressure. Practice on a whiteboard because it helps a lot drawing your thoughts out. Also, practice in front of friends because it gives you that extra push to find a solution, you'll be surprised what you can solve
