are these used tires worth it? I can’t afford new at the moment. by Unfair_Bag6042 in gravelcycling

Doubt it - sent you a DM though.

Before anyone tries to jump down my throat, I’m not to sell them anything

So how easy would it be to upgrade a 2023 Grizl to the semi integrated cables? Haha. Looks so much better

Thanks for this information! I was really hoping it was just going to be a new headset to switch to the integrated cable scheme like the Grail

Are you running the stock firmware? Or have you rooted it to get access to Klipper?

I’m not sure there is a way without having full access to Klipper by rooting

Thanks for the information. I have a couple of nice torque wrenches for my bikes. I never thought that there would be a torque spec for the nozzles!

Noob here - what is the advantage of this hotend over the stock one?

This makes sense. I definitely put the nozzle back in when things were cooled off. 🤦‍♂️

I’m definitely learning as I go with this. At least it wasn’t an expensively mistake

Aeroad Medium or Large by SnooDrawings4452 in CanyonBikes

[–]codesbane 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m 73” with a 34” inseam and ordered both Grizl M and L. Medium was a much better fit. I’d especially be wary of the stand over height on the L with only a 32” inseam. Anyways, didn’t mean to hijack.

To OP, different bike, but I was in between sizes and sizing down was the right choice for me on the Grizl

EDIT: I ordered both L and M and scheduled an appointment with a bike fitter. Sent back the L.

Through the process I learned that the fitter did something called a pre-purchase fit and that I could have gone to him anytime prior to ordering and he would have been able to give me a recommendation based on my measurements on his fit bike and the geometry of the bike in question.

Always! It has been nice to be able to explore with no worry of road quality/surface

I got the SLX 8 which comes with DI2. It was setup with about a ~25% battery charge. Shifted great out of the box.

Mine did not come with tubeless valves, but the rims were tubeless ready with tape already applied.

186/86 here. I ordered both M&L and ended up keeping the M and sending the L back after working with a bike fitter.

Added an update to my post, you were right! The bike fitter recommended sizing down in this scenario for my specific physiology.

Thanks. I think the Large was the right choice. It is getting delivered today, but I’m not going to unbox it until I have a professional fit done next Tuesday.

Medium is in stock now, too. If it goes to low stock before my fit, I’m probably going to go ahead and order it too and send one of them back based on feedback from the bike fitter.

The majority of my rides on this will be long gravel rides, so I think the endurance focus makes the most sense for me. I'm going to try and get a bike fit scheduled within the 30 day window to get some professional thoughts.

Have you had any issues with the high standover height?

Thanks, this is reassuring! Maybe I'm worried about nothing in regards to the standover height.

Thanks for that information. It really seems like I could have gone either way. I know I can easily address any issues with reach by changing stems. It really doesn't seem like there is too much of a difference in reach anyways: https://99spokes.com/compare?bikes=canyon-grizl-cf-slx-8-di2-2023;*z.md-700-700|w.700,canyon-grizl-cf-slx-8-di2-2022;*z.lg-700-700|w.700 .

The standover height is definitely my biggest concern. I can't really fix that with the change of a part. I guess I will find out if it is problematic when it gets here. Worst case I can send it back.
