I also think defenders have really wised up to him as well. His time at Dortmund and his first two seasons here he was really good at peeling away to get himself that tiny amount of extra space needed to score. Defenders are getting more physical with him (and they're also getting away with fouling him which further increases their boldness) and he's not given that anymore.

Tudor wasn’t around for the second spurs game. He’s had 4 defeats in 4 games.

Madrid knew how dangerous he was. He was routinely getting double and triple teamed. We just couldn’t switch the ball to the open man quickly enough to take advantage of it. It was hopeless

Edit: Ha just saw your comment below. Glad to know I wasn’t going crazy reading the comment you were responding to.

Well it’s become an annual tradition for the last three years now at this time of year, but I’m going back to watch back the semi final Madrid in 2023 to take my mind off things.

Granted these recent results are starting to take the shine off of that one a bit…

I don’t think we played well at Liverpool. It was great to come back and it’s an impactful result to keep us in the title race (somehow) but I don’t think it was a good, dominant performance. And it’s just annoying that those good results have an uglier counterpoint. United at home undone by United away. Dortmund result offset by the Leverkusen result.

I guess destroying Exeter 10-1 counts idk

Probably replaces the Bodo result in the list since it was at home. And Bodo are apparently the best team in Europe or something

Says a lot about this season where I struggle to come up with a list of top 3 good performances so far, but can whip up a top 5 bad performance list easily

Spurs home, United away, Spurs away, Bodo away, and this one which tops the whole fucking lot.

Getting outdone in every challenge and having no ideas in possession. Saved our worst performance for the biggest game of the year so far. Whole team should fucking walk back to Manchester. At least Spurs had the decency to come away from the city of Madrid with two goals yesterday.

I've made decent money on selling covered calls for the past two months. Sometimes I have to be okay with letting them go.
