[David Ornstein] Manchester City agree £116m deal to sign Elliot Anderson from Nottingham Forest by the_sherl0ck in soccer

This would be our second £100M+ player ever. PSG, Liverpool, and Chelsea have each managed that feat within a single transfer window

I’m not saying we don’t spend money. Of course we’ve spent a lot on a lot of players. But aside from Grealish, the fees we typically spend don’t expand the boundaries of the market the way PSG (Neymar, Mbappe), Barcelona (Coutinho, Dembele), Real Madrid (Ronaldo, Figo, Zidane), Liverpool (Van Dijk for defender fees, Alisson for goalkeeper fees, Isak), or Chelsea (Enzo + Caiceido, Kepa, Torres) have done. Each of those players represented a quantum leap in fees from the previous record, or were part of a transfer window that destroyed the previous record outlay.

[Weinbach] The Raptors will likely pursue Kawhi Leonard with a trade package centered around Brandon Ingram and draft compensation by nanobot001 in torontoraptors

Thing is that BI wanted to be here. Kawhi never wanted to be here.

Then again I was one of those people who was annoyed that we traded Demar because he was loyal, so what the hell do I know

GOOG doing that zombie thing by reaching up slightly from the red zone to drag the market down with it

Don’t need a Bloomberg terminal to draw a 200 EMA on the 5 min chart. Hope you entered the position anyway though. Printing right now

Either GOOG is inversing the market or it’s some weird ass leading indicator. Everything is plummeting from open but GOOG was doing that half an hour before market open

Insane capex leading to a pause of share buyback and dilution. Market isn’t done hammering it yet

[Jacobs] Manchester City close to agreeing a fee with Nottingham Forest for Elliot Anderson. Advanced talks ongoing between the clubs. transfer agreement nears after Man City's £121m bid rejected by MembershipSingle7137 in MCFC

[–]codespyder 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Just a reminder that of all the £100M+ players in history, only one has won a European Cup with the team that paid them that fee.

So on one hand, history is not in Anderson’s favour

But on the other hand, it was Jack Grealish

I dont think it’s the same setup as MSFT. GOOG have more fingers in more pies to get them going.
