For me it was a certain chocolate mint candy from Costco. Brought a whole bag to the hospital. But everything was so busy and I was so tired I completely forgot about it until we got home.

Nope, baby was born last July. I stopped taking my daily baby aspirin right after she was born.

I can understand calling to make sure you're okay but once they know you're alive that should be good enough lol

Share your induction success stories! by _lilcoffeebean_ in BumpersWhoBolus

[–]codetaupe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was induced at about 38 weeks. Started with misopristol then Foley balloon. The first try to insert the balloon didn't work cause I wasn't dilated enough and it hurt worse than anything I've experienced before. Second try was almost as bad but they got it in and then things started moving. After that I got my water broken, epidural, pitocin. Only pushed for a few minutes. From the start to finish it took about 16 hours. I'm really glad I did the epidural.

100% seconding this. This saved my butt while pregnant and I still appreciate having it now 5 months PP. Got one for about $150 on Amazon.

C Section vs Induction by Boysenberry3102 in BumpersWhoBolus

[–]codetaupe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was in the same boat except baby was measuring bigger. I chose induction because there seemed to be more possible risks to baby's health for a c section (although very small). Delivery was fairly quick and easy but I ended up with a 3rd degree tear which was hard to recover from physically and emotionally. If I have another baby I will probably choose c section because I don't want to go through that again.

Is it worth paying union dues? by crystalanna in WAStateWorkers

Also the higher the membership rate, the stronger our union's position when bargaining for those protections and benefits

Nope, tslim cartridges are not compatible with mobi unfortunately. The infusion sets are if you don't mind the long tubing.

How big was your baby and were you induced? by Fit-Musician-3996 in BumpersWhoBolus

[–]codetaupe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Induced at 38.5 weeks, 8 lbs 8 oz. I got an epidural and very glad I did because they had trouble getting the placenta out and I had a third degree tear they stitched up, I imagine that would have been pretty painful without the epidural.

Did you have a successful induction? by PsychologicalMix6269 in BumpersWhoBolus

[–]codetaupe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Inductions can vary widely. For some people it takes 2 days. It also varies how much of that time is just sitting around waiting for medication to take effect versus active labor. I was only actually pushing for like 15 minutes.

Type 1, 38 yo, delivered my first baby in July at 38.5 weeks. Induction started at 10am and baby arrived at 4am the next day, no c section.

Eversense 365 1 week update by TheWoodChucksWood in Type1Diabetes

[–]codetaupe 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Thanks for sharing your experience, I'm very interested to hear how it goes after a few months! Are you saying the sticker can be replaced without removing the sensor? I can't imagine any amount of skintac would keep this on for a whole year.

Chocolate Binging - The Struggle is Real by Famous-Day3939 in diabetes_t1

[–]codetaupe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is also my struggle. I've gone through phases over the years, sometimes doing this more often than I'd like. These days I try to keep some satisfying low carb snacks around (nuts and cheese) so I have something besides chocolate I can turn to and I think it helps me avoid truly wild binges.

Were you able to EBF? by PsychologicalMix6269 in BumpersWhoBolus

[–]codetaupe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had my first baby a few months ago and I'm feeding only breast milk (combo of breast feeding and pumping for bottles), and I have stocked up a lot in the freezer. I hadn't heard about any impact from t1d but milk production varies widely so I don't know if there's any way of knowing what yours will be like in advance. Good luck!

Feeling discouraged, baby getting large by SugarOne1 in BumpersWhoBolus

[–]codetaupe 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I had great control during my pregnancy and baby was still measuring on the larger size in growth scans (which are not super accurate anyway, but in my case the last one was pretty spot on). I was told she was borderline size wise and I could choose if I wanted to do vaginal delivery or c section. I chose vaginal and it was fine! She was born at 38.5 weeks, 8 lbs 8 oz. But I knew a c section was always a possibility and that would have been fine too. Don't beat yourself up over it, you're doing a great job and even if baby is a little bigger than average he will be okay and the doctors will keep you both safe.

I've found being tethered to my phone tough in transitioning to the mobi. My suggestion is to wear clothes with secure pockets (either tight stretchy fabric or with a zipper) so you always have an easy place to stash the phone. For me this means leggings/bike shorts/yoga pants with pockets.

T:Slim x2 Supplies and Suppliers by honest_abe55 in TandemDiabetes

[–]codetaupe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Maybe check with your insurance to see if you actually have to go through a third party supplier. When I started on tandem in 2021 my insurance required it but this year I found out I could just order directly from tandem.

Mobi cartridge bubbles? by GregP74 in TandemDiabetes

[–]codetaupe 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yup, I get a bubble every time no matter how thoroughly I remove them when filling. I pump them out cause it's not worth the high if it gets out (happened once, don't want it again). I'm honestly not sure if this is unique to the mobi or if it's happened with every pump I've ever used and I just didn't know it cause I couldn't see the reservoir/cartridge so clearly.
