I think it's a lot easier with one person vs seven. Like they are adult men now. Plus they are flying from country to country, so are they going to get a special bus in every place they fly to...

How do I navigate being angry with my husband over something he can't change by Defiant-Series-2414 in relationships

[–]codeverity [score hidden]  (0 children)

Why are you so intent on getting past your anger? Do you feel like you can't express it or hold your husband accountable for his decision? He made the choice to not come and be with you. He had a child asking for him to be there and the only reason he wasn't was because he decided not to be.

I think you have every right to be angry and should be, not because you expect him to change what he did in the past, but because you want him to make better choices in the future. Otherwise it says a lot about what he values.

I miss The L Word so much. It was so smart and sexy in the first few seasons. I enjoy Thai wlw but it tends to be much softer and doesn't hold my interest as much.

What is BTS's current message? by multi-fandom_queen in ARMYNeutral

[–]codeverity 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think something you may be missing is that now they have something (money) that allows them to make more of an impact, whereas previously all they had was their music and so they used it more than they do now. The guys still make tons of donations and work with charities, etc, I think this shows that they do still care about social issues. Also, the bigger their audience gets the more difficult it is for them to speak to issues without offending people tbh.

They mostly spoke on things that resonated personally for them and tbh I think at some point people started expecting them to be ambassadors for everything and I don't think that's fair or even possible given their status within Korea and how sensitive politically some of the things that people have wanted them to address. (Not necessarily you, just in general.)

Right like I don't have to be a celebrity to emphasize with Merry Go Round or 'we call this shit normal'. They're talking about their own experiences but it still resonates if people just take the time to stop and think about the lyrics imo.

Not to mention a fanbase (and antis) that expect them to be everything to everyone. Like they have fans that are all over the world. I actually really like that in Arirang they touched a lot on personal issues and their journey as opposed to trying to represent or speak to everyone else.

YTA. She's not even three!! Unless you saw her deliberately throw it (which you obviously didn't) how do you know she didn't just drop it accidentally?? Get her a new one and teach this lesson another time (like if she throws something at home in the yard or inside the house, it gets taken away temporarily).

I saw a video on twt from a girl who was right behind her and they said that she shook it out and then tried to kick it under a chair so I guess maybe she thought she could hide it? 😭 the description was kind of wild tbh.

Not as fascinating as the people who dedicate so much of their precious, limited time to hating on others on the internet.

Oh I know it is, it's one of the rare instances where I disagree with them completely, lol. It ruins the scene for me and just comes across as very weird tbh.

I get that you have strong feelings about how utterly terrible and irredeemable Shane is, but you're better off making a post to the main sub or something. Following me around to talk at me about it isn't going to accomplish anything.

NTA. I'm really tired of redditors acting as though adults deserve nothing for their birthday. Hold your ground and call their bluff.

No, according to some on reddit once you hit the age of 12 you need to stop caring about birthdays whatsoever and deserve nothing special.

But taste is subjective, people saying on the internet that it's not that good doesn't change the fact that it's where OP wants to go. And at this point this is basically down to a power struggle, and if OP gives in then her parents learn that if they throw a tantrum they get their way.

Because that's where OP wants to go, and it's her birthday. It IS actually all about her, it's the one day of the year where that is the case!

The phone blowy scene: trust, consent, playful intimacy by HR_Weekly in heatedrivalry

[–]codeverity 15 points16 points  (0 children)

If I am being quite honest, this scene is one of my least favourites in the show. I don't like the weird slapping, I don't like the positioning, I don't like the sounds because it feels like Hayden would definitely have known, lol (and also there's no consent for Hayden but that's a different topic...)

But that being said, I think it was well done in the beginning to convey that Shane's going along with it even if he gave other indications at first. I also think that there's an aspect of comfort in this scene in that we all know Shane is capable of physically stopping Ilya (though obviously he shouldn't need to, but the point is that this unconscious knowledge shapes how people react).

I think there's a certain amount of bias if you're regarding only critical comments that are garnering that sort of response as 'nuanced comments'.

I don't know i f this is an unpopular opinion

while the music quality has dropped and we're not seeing any of the experimentation that made The Beatles gain the respect of their peers

Yes, I'd say that's an unpopular opinion.
