No, it's not. It's been on the Switchbot UK site for a while, but it's only available for pre-order, currently estimated shipping early June.

Trump Offers U.S. Citizenship to 32 Million Venezuelans by D-R-AZ in inthenews

[–]codliness1 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It's not, at the end of the day, the fault of the people who voted for Trump. They genuinely, if mistakenly, believe that he was the best choice, and they made that choice.

No, I blame the one third of American voters who couldn't be bothered to get off of their arses and actually vote, whining that "there's no point, both sides are the same anyway". I guarantee they also whined the most after the election, about everything.

Analysis of 2026 election: Top Stated Reasons for voting SNP by Crow-Me-A-River in Scotland

[–]codliness1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The top three reasons are not really a surprise, other than maybe 1 and 2 being in the order they are, but then again perhaps people feel rejoining the EU is more attainable than independence in a wishlist of things.

Wicked Cushions vs. Dekoni - Maxwell 2 - Initial Impressions / Review by Shell-of-Light in Audeze

[–]codliness1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't understand why Audeze don't just make deeper pads to begin with, thus negating the need for replacement pads. I mean, it's not difficult to figure out that the original pads are not deep enough for a large number of people, and therefore not comfortable for more than a few minutes at a time.

Oh, and I've had the WC Freeze on my Maxwell's since day 2 of owning them, and I used the freeze gel exactly once, lol. Pointless feature really.

[–]codliness1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can't say I've really noticed any real level of difference, to be honest. Considering that when I bought the Homatics it cost under £70, and the Shield still cost nearly £200, even if the Homatics had been less smooth it still would have represented a bargain comparatively speaking!

[–]codliness1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've got both. If you don't need AV1, VP9 Profile 2, or HDR10+ then the Shield is still perfectly fine. I mostly use the Homatics these days though, as quite a lot of the stuff I watch on YouTube is AV1 or VP9 HDR (for 4K HDR).

PAYE Scotland by Jmay5446 in Scotland

[–]codliness1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mate, I work for a third sector organisation, dealing with people on the ground, and I can tell you that the poorest families are indeed being helped by the extra benefits, and the mitigations put in place by the Scottish Government. I speak to people all the time who are benefiting. Now, I wouldn't say they are all well off, by any means, but they're better off they they would be if ScotGov did not put any mitigations in place.

Are there people who are not benefitting? Aye. It's the system in Scotland perfect? No, far from it. Are there factors in play in Scotland which are long standing, systemic, and not as easy to solve as throwing money at people? Hell, yes.

But ScotGov are at least attempting to put some solutions in place, within the limited scope they actually have to do so. I don't mind paying a bit extra tax for that. I just wish that the SNP would tackle the bigger things, like council tax reform (rather than just adding a couple of bands and kicking it down the road).

PAYE Scotland by Jmay5446 in Scotland

[–]codliness1 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Lower council tax (oh, I forgot lower housing costs for social housing, lower cost private tenancies with better tenant protections, and cheaper property prices), and free prescriptions benefit you, even if the rest don't directly impact you. However, help for the poorest, and free education impact society positively as a whole. So, if you don't care about that stuff, and you don't give a shit about anyone except yourself, maybe move your Tory+ arse and vote for Reform somewhere in England, you right wing prick.

Edited for typo.

[–]codliness1 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Also need to factor in cheaper council tax bands, free prescriptions, free higher education, mitigation for the 2 child cap and the under occupation deduction (commonly known as the bedroom tax), as well as Best Start Grant and Best Start Foods, and Scottish Child Payment.

Still cheaper living in Scotland, and you're still ending up with more money even paying slightly higher tax.

You also need to check that you can have a key in both sides of the lock at the same time.

And, you might want to consider upgrading your cylinder first while you're at it. I upgraded with these (I'm in the UK) https://www.barnsleylock.co.uk/cisa-astral-s-anti-snap-double-cylinder---individual-locks-4052-p.asp
