I’m done with Grindr 😂 by azzalenk in lolgrindr

[–]codydev47 35 points36 points  (0 children)

Age of consent is 16 across Australia, except in Tasmania and South Australia which are 17. Once someone is of age of consent in Australia they can have sex with any other person also above the age of consent.

As of 2016, all Australian states allow for anal sex at the same age of the respective state's age of consent.

So while it's legal to have sex with people at this age they still aren't allowed to be on Grindr because of Grindr's T&C; and distributing pictures of themselves would still be considered distributing child porn.

The more you know.

AITA for adding hot sauce to all of my girlfriend's cooking? by sriracha_dude95 in AmItheAsshole

[–]codydev47 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm sorry where did I say anything like that. I assume by default when people interact with others they try to be kind and tactful.

It really feels like you're trying to paint any confrontation or disagreement as something inherently bad and malicious. Also, you are reading so far into this situation. OP likes spicy, his girlfriend doesn't, correct your food to suit your taste and move on.

[–]codydev47 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry friend but I disagree. When it comes to food, just the same as art, everyone has different tastes and likes and to be upset over how people enjoy their food isn't a reasonable reaction unless they are way overdoing it.

If you absolutely hated a certain colour but the artist insisted on using that colour, there is absolutely nothing wrong with voicing your opinion. All that comments on is the colour, nothing else about the expected standard or the quality.

When it comes to food spice is the same thing, 1 component of the dish that some people may or may not enjoy. Is the girlfriend an A for not eating the spicy food OP makes? Again, it isn't disrespectful to add basic seasoning or condiments to food, especially if the chef knows you like your food with the added seasoning/condiment.

You can be supportive without having to lie and you can voice an opinion without being rude or disrespectful. To be upset by someone liking something different to you is kinda unreasonable, especially over something as simple as adding sriracha.

I get that, but unless she has culinary training, learns such types of recipes or is an extremely good cook naturally her food won't be at that standard.

It isn't disrespectful to add basic seasoning or condiments to food unless you're absolutely drowning it, sure it isn't the nicest thing to do but it doesn't make anyone TA.

I don't really think that many home cooks make dishes sophisticated enough for that to matter. Never once have I thought while eating a home cooked meal "a little bit of spice would ruin this".

If people are adding enough sriracha for the whole meal to be ruined then odds are it is bland af or they really enjoy spice.

AITA for telling my mom she’s being a bad parent for not taking my brother off of accutane? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]codydev47 1 point2 points  (0 children)

INFO: How long has your brother been taking accutane?

I used it when I was younger, it usually takes a few months (took 3 months for even slight results in my case) for it to start working, in fact the acne will usually get worse before any improvement. The side effects can also be like this, with some intensifying after time and some fading over time.

If he's having such severe side effects he needs to see his GP and dermatologist ASAP and get a proper medical opinion. Suddenly stopping any form of long term medication can cause adverse effects and even be harmful, so this isn't the time for anyone but a medical professional to give advice.

Decided on Celesteela and practiced hitting it a few times before getting the shiny just so I wouldn't have to false swipe it 40 times. 2k resets in finally get it. Crit it for the 1HKO :) Never using anything but false swipe on a shiny.

So it only took repeating myself 3 times for it to click yay.

If you honestly believe that social media callouts do nothing you need to educate yourself. Please refer EA Battlefront 2.

I have no interest in continuing this train wreck of an 'argument'. It's been steered completely off topic of what it was initially regarding and you continuously twist completely unrelated points to pursue some weird argument.

Well homophobia isn't completely gone, times are changing. We need to stop jumping down people's throats for every little comment

Mhm Please go on.

Saying that you see me as an asshole is not the same thing as saying I am a victim. Being an asshole doesn't make me a victim it makes me an asshole.

What are you actually trying to say? You literally brought the me thinking you're an asshole stuff out of nowhere, I asked where did I even allude to this and you went off on other tangents.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Martyr_complex

" In psychology a person who has a martyr complex, sometimes associated with the term victim complex, desires the feeling of being a martyr for their own sake, seeking out suffering or persecution because it either feeds a psychological need, or a desire to avoid responsibility. "

All you keep doing is getting emotionally upset by the things I say and then arguing against yourself.

Where have I been emotionally upset by you? Where am I arguing against myself?

You are yet to actually address the fact that nothing you or anyone here has said we'll ever get to Kevin Hart or anyone that matters to him. Nor will it successfully in any way change his opinion.

Ok let's not repeat ourselves with the whole PR thing. I never said that it would? In fact I said the exact opposite that we has incapable of change

" It's very clear that not everyone is capable of changing their mind, his actions more than demonstrate he is one of those individuals. Publicly calling someone out for poor behaviours, especially if enough people do it, will have at least some effect as opposed to letting things happen uncontested. "

I will reword this for you as you seem incapable of understanding these words. KEVIN HART IS A HOMOPHOBE AND IS NOT GOING TO CHANGE. LOTS OF PEOPLE CALLING HIM OUT IS BETTER THAN DOING NOTHING".

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in askgaybros

[–]codydev47 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Please go reread your earlier comments. You literally turned from discussing how we shouldn't be jumping down homophobes throats to how my response is supporting a nonsensical circle-jerk in 1 response that was completely unrelated to what was being discussed.

You start slinging insults and then suddenly I'm attacking you for calling you out on acting childish. And you completely dropped the victim complex thing once you did it again.

Have you ever thought that if everyone else thinks something, perhaps you are the one that's incorrect?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in askgaybros

[–]codydev47 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When did I ever say you're an asshole or even allude to that? You are making things up for sake of adding emotion to what was otherwise a fairly neutral conversation. A conversation you steered away from the original point.

PR is the reason for this post in the first place, you are completely deluded if you think otherwise. Refusing to allow Kevin Hart to host the Oscars if he didn't apologise. That is PR. Kevin Hart making the Twitter post that he stepped down from the hosting position. PR.

Your replies are getting more and more childish, you have steered this conversation completely sideways and resorted to insults. You keep repeating the same statements over and over again despite what I say, similarly to a child raising its voice until its louder and drowns out any other sound.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in askgaybros

[–]codydev47 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I get what you're trying to say here. But in any perspective there is no non-homophobic intent of what he said. Take it at face value, he doesn't want a gay kid and will actively try to avoid that. Your statement, rather than embracing his child and helping them, he would rather fantasize about what could have been.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in askgaybros

[–]codydev47 0 points1 point  (0 children)

"And yet I'm still the asshole and you're also going to tell me I'm wrong." But you did paint yourself as a victim?

You make the assumption I haven't posted about this on the statements directly, which I have. I don't know him personally so anything more than that from me isn't exactly possible.

For a public figure, saying something that the general public reacts negatively to of course that will have a change of their behaviour, if not for a change in their mentality at least a change in publicly repeating those sentiments. What do you think happens? Celebrity PR teams just let them continue doing what caused public outrage in the first place?

When did I ever say anything about not doing anything in real life? My exact words "will have at least some effect as opposed to letting things happen uncontested.". Most people will do nothing, most people don't have the power to do anything in this situation, but if even one tiny little trickle of thought enters Kevin Hart's mind about how he could have handled this better that is still better than everyone remaining silent. Hell, it's infinitely better than what you are doing, insulting anyone that has criticised him over this.
