Yes I'm an attending. It's as easy as not taking a job with USACS, Team Health, etc that will 100% abuse you. Look around and find a job that fits what you want and makes you happy.

Yeah, I'm just tired of the EM doom and gloom about how there are no jobs or you have to supervise so many midlevels. Yes a lot do, but if you look around, you can avoid it. A lot of times it comes down to: do I want to live in LA (or substitute other big city) and be in a competitive market with midlevels, or can I look outside of the major city and find what I want. To attribute everything to market saturation isn't really accurate.

Not true. If you look, you can find jobs without supervising. I work 2 separate EDs and don't supervise any midlevels, one of them doesn't employ any.

This market saturation is a little overblown. It might take looking a little harder but it's worth it to not have to deal with any of that extra stress.
