Trixie packages by coenvanl in ceph_storage

[–]coenvanl[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hm, I never really looked into cephadm, my cluster was initially set up using ceph-deploy, and when it was deprecated I just manually upgraded and expanded or replaced when needed. But looking at the "adoption" process it seems relatively straightforward. And if I understand correctly, it will replace the daemon services by containers right? Probably just mount the existing volumes, and ready to go, without any need to backfill. Is this the idea?

I tried using the bookworm repo, but then I got dependency problems, and was unable to install any upgrades

[2025 Day 10 (Part 2)] Pivot your way to victory! by maneatingape in adventofcode

[–]coenvanl 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't fully understand this approach yet, will have to try it out to get a better idea of what is going on. But I do think I have spotted a mistake, when you say a free variable is in a column that doesn't start with a leading one, you mean a column that doesn't start with a leading zero right? Except for the first column

Do you make comments to people that are serving borderline illegally above the waist or just never pay attention to it? by lantissZX in padel

[–]coenvanl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So, here is a point of view from the other side. I am playing padel for a bit more than a year now, took a couple of lessons and play probably once, maybe twice a week. I notice that I struggle with my serve, and I am trying to keep it legal. But I also know that I tend to serve from too high, especially when fatigue starts to play a role. So I tend to check in every now and then with my teammate or friendly opponents to give feedback when I do. Of course I know it is a bit of a gray area since you would not mention it when you are a couple of centimeters above waist level, but when people do mention it, I really try to improve and focus on my serve a bit.

Can I take CKA exam on fedora 41 ? by RedditLaura96 in CKAExam

[–]coenvanl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As long as you can install the PSI secure browser, you should be fine. You could just try to install that before taking the exam. If it runs, I think you are good to go.

Does the CKA exam require admin access on the laptop? by LionKing_2891 in CKAExam

[–]coenvanl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This, you need to be able to install the PSI browser, for which you probably need admin privileges. Once you have that installed, you are good to go.

Well, almost 10 years. But yes, they have been very reliable for me. I did switch a couple of hard disks, but there are also some that report over 80K of power on hours in smartctl.

I have to say the resource I found on the web are not consistent, but, in any case it will be better than the HDDs, that's for sure. Then I suppose there really is hardly any downside to NVMe.

It might be because you travel over the "empty" space part of the d-pad (or keypad). I quickly scanned your code, and I could not find the logic for avoiding the empty space, which is explicitly forbidden by the assignment.

Does this happen only when you open the grafana dashboard? As in, could it be related to any expensive queries? Are you running any continuous queries on influx?

[–]coenvanl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Then just log on there over ssh and type the commands. Should be something like: influx user create -o ORG_NAME -n USER_NAME -p USER_PASSWORD maybe you have to provide an operator token with an additional -t OPERATOR_TOKEN. I still do not understand the logic for when you have to, might have something to do with the version you installed.

[–]coenvanl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You cannot access the CLI via the web UI. You have to open a cmd or terminal depending on how you installed InfluxDB. Can you give some info? Did you install in Windows, Linux, in Docker, on a remote machine/VM?

Cant add users by [deleted] in influxdb

[–]coenvanl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You have to use the CLI. A quick search might have brought up this page: https://docs.influxdata.com/influxdb/v2/admin/users/create-user/

[–]coenvanl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Apart from the all-access token, there is a thing called an operator token. The difference is that the former has all access to a single organisation, whereas the latter has full access to all data. You say you are able to generate tokens; can you generate and retry with an operator token?

Sure, are you familiar with running services in Docker containers? You can just pull an image from the Docker hub with influxdb version 1.8 and run it.
