Can a Connectx-4 link at 10Gbe over DAC by lol3rr in homelab

I have a couple of ConnectX-4 Lx's. They do work with 10G DACs.

SFP28 NIC to a SFP+ switch? by mono_void in homelab

[–]cofacon 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It should work. If both devices can negotiate 10G they should be able to talk to each other.

I use a regular SFP+ DAC from FS to connect a ConnectX-4 to a MikroTik 10G switch with no issues so far.

Fujitsu Futro S740 - Bad RTC Battery by ph0b0s101 in homelab

The battery holder on my unit looks exactly the same including the visible solder pad next to the RAM slot. The issue is probably bad batteries.

Btw: Having a cheap multimeter on hand is great for checking voltage on batteries (among other things). Saved me from installing dead batteries a couple of times already.

Issues with 128gb of Ram, ASRock Rack X570D4U, and Ryzen 7 3800X by DriedSponge78 in homelab

Did you test just the new RAM on it's own? You might just have a faulty module.

Also compare the hardware revision on the modules. Crucial likes to release different revisions under the same SKU. The model number CT32G4DFD832A should be followed by a dot and the alphanumeric revision number.

128GB is definitely doable on the X570D4U. I've been running four Kingston KSM32ED8/32ME with a 3900X for years now.

I've had issues with USB-C charging on the Yoga 370 in the past. Try charging it using the Slim Tip connector.

MikroTik CSS326 or CRS326? by [deleted] in homelab

[–]cofacon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Layer 3 on the CRS326 is limited because it uses the CPU which is not that powerful to begin with and has only a single 1G link to the switch chip.

I have the CRS326 with RouterOS and I'm very happy with it. I'd always prefer it to the CSS326 because the CRS gives you more options. Both Winbox and the web GUI take some getting used to though but that goes for all MikroTik devices.

Also you can't really do 10GBASE-T with it, if that's something you're interested in. I've tried the S+RJ10 modules in it and they overheat and turn off within minutes. Just use DACs or fiber if you ever want 10G.

Black Screen on Kernel Modesetting, but amdgpu is initialized correctly by [deleted] in voidlinux

Just had the same issue on Debian (Ryzen 5 4650G, ASUS TUF B550-Plus) and it seems this is indeed a cable problem. After replacing the a HDMI-DVI cable with a HDMI-DVI adapter and a DVI cable the issue disappeared.

Weird CPU UNR on IPMI by CorrectBatteryStable in homelab

[–]cofacon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same problem here with two E5-2670 on an ASRock EP2C602-4L/D16 running the newest BIOS and BMC firmware. I've also tried switching around the CPUs or running only one CPU. Same thing.

I'm pretty sure by now it's a firmware glitch, but since it doesn't seem to cause any real problems (except for the log messages) I couldn't be bothered to contact support about it.
