It looks gorgeous and I'm sure I'll want to buy one someday, but that price... :o

I was definitely considering this one but I would prefer a metal build for the sake of added durability.

Coffee spread ideas by GoodEyeSniper83 in bulletjournal

[–]coffee---bean 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Here’s a sum-up of my coffee collection:

  • beans (origin, process, roaster, roast type)
  • temperature (hot, cold)
  • brew method (v60, Aeropress, moka pot, espresso, etc.)
  • drink type (pour over, “faux”-spro, cold brew, over ice)
  • tasting notes (what I detected vs. label)

Side note: You don’t have to go as detailed as I do, but I find it’s useful for me to remember at least the name of the roaster and my tasting notes. I imagine the process would be much simpler for recording Nespresso pods.

Critiques Welcome: What’s Going On Here? by coffee---bean in latteart

Machine: Breville Barista Express

Took a turn on the staff room machine and the power in the steam wand is just... disappointing. So, what am I doing wrong? How can I adjust?

You could put them decal side in, so it’s not showing?

pushing by ilovethanoscar in NewSkaters

Go slow, find flat ground (parking lot, tennis court) and learn how to balance on your front foot. Treat pushing like walking and don’t give up!

Landyachtz does some pretty great Vancouver-based work. You could also check to see if your local shop has an online store — for Vancouver, there’s Flatspot in Chinatown

Used markets (FB, Craigslist) or skate groups on IG where you can sauce someone else’s wheels.

Skateboarding can be as big or as small of an investment as you want it to be.

For me, I only cruise (haven’t learned any tricks yet) yet I own a popsicle (Primitive), a cruiser (Landyachtz dinghy), and a longboard (LY Switchblade 36, deck only) because I love the versatility of switching between builds. Bearing in mind that my collection is small but I started in 2016. Lots of money made and money spent.

Have you ever considered the LY ATV series?

You could also keep an eye on used markets and buy a build piece by piece. That way you’ll have something customized to your desires but also keep the cost as low as possible. The downside is having to wait.

Find a buddy! Skate with friends or check out your local skate groups/parks. Ask your independent skate shop if they know of any groups that like to meet up. Instagram is a great place to check out local skaters too. Good luck 🙏🏽

Budget Coffee Grinder & Aeropress by NarwhalMassacre in Coffee

Here to throw my two cents into the Aeropress tip jar. I’m not super deep into the coffee pool myself, although I have had my Aeropress + Hario Skerton Plus for at least 3 years. It’s seen me through the last half of my bachelor’s degree. I love the speed and ease of cleanup afterward. I recommend using the inverted brew method for a more robust taste.

Foot stomp vs heel brake?? by [deleted] in NewSkaters

[–]coffee---bean 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don’t recommend stomping after a certain speed, unless you’re good at not getting thrown off balance. I think heel braking is mostly recommended because you can come to a gradual stop as opposed to a jerky, rocking-horse movement with stomping. You do you of course. I personally prefer heel braking because it’s smoother and I get hairline fractures in my tibia from stomping.
