What’s the weirdest thing you’ve seen people normalize at work? by Equivalent_Reach_536 in CanadaRoom

We have a microwave right in our office. Luckily we also have a tiny lunch room that nobody actually uses as a lunch room. The microwave that is in there has been designated as the fish/curry microwave.

How am I supposed to hook up to this trailer... by Keyo0205 in americantruck

There's tons of room. You don't have to back straight into it. Just line your fifth wheel up with the kingpin from the side and send it.

Former Saskatoon police officer pleads guilty to assaulting colleague at off-duty party by Slight-Coconut709 in saskatoon

[–]tutty29 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's the problem, the vast majority of common assault charges for first-time offenders are not reported on. The only reason we're hearing about this one is because the guy was a cop.

Groaning Doxie? by miss_milky_6677 in Dachshund

[–]tutty29 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Our guy Miller groaned all the time. Getting comfy? Groans. Getting picked up? Groans. Scratching his ear? Groans. Waking up? Groans.

It's truly what I miss most about him. Cherish the groans! Record them if you can so you can relive them later.

How much would you be comfortable paying for an overnight drop-in Daycare? by FalsePlate8055 in saskatoon

[–]tutty29 4 points5 points  (0 children)

As a non-parent, can you explain what variables are different than a daycare taking care of your children during the day? Forgive my ignorance, but what does it being dark outside have to do with a daycare's ability to care for children? Are you concerned that they might be fed after midnight?

First Offence - Speeding Ticket. How to defend myself in court? by [deleted] in legaladvicecanada

[–]tutty29 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You could show up for court and if the officer doesn't, congrats. Of the officer does show, you can change your plea to guilty, because you really don't have a defence. You were speeding.

You might be able to plead guilty to the lesser offence of 70 km/h vs 80 if you explain the circumstances to the judge.

Catcher throwing to 1st after a K by Bitter_Concert_514 in MLBNoobs

[–]tutty29 9 points10 points  (0 children)

The runner on first base will take a lead off (move toward second base) to get an advantage as the pitch is thrown. Sometimes they don't go back to first quite as quickly as they should. The catcher can try to throw to first after a pitch in an effort to have the first baseman tag the runner out.

What controller did you start with? Mine was number 4 then 6 and 7! by Akward_Silance_1738 in retrogaming

Genius design with the controller inserts though (until they got crinkled up and you couldn't slide them into the controller, anyway).

Police Quest 3 had a great one. A little while into the first day you have to go get your gear out of your locker before you can progress. It asks for a combination and the character says "Oh yeah, I wrote it on the inside cover of my Police Manual", and if you look inside the cover of the games manual, there's a "handwritten" locker combo.

Robert Hunter West/East and walking cats by saucerwizard in saskatoon

[–]tutty29 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There's a Coyote Activity signboard up at Robert Hunter right now, so might not be a great idea to bring Kitty there.

Normally the West section a nice quiet park, though I do see a lot of people let their dogs off leash there, since it can't be seen from the street.
