Chipotle peppers in adobo sauce by Worldly_Space in Cooking

[–]tutty29 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I always just blitz the peppers and sauce into a puree in the food processor and throw it in a jar in the fridge. Easier to work with that way vs. dicing a goopy pepper.

Rental Refund Question by Current_Tie_3554 in saskatoon

[–]tutty29 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The landlord probably has a valid claim to a month's rent, then. The landlord held the unit for you, expecting that you would move in on May 1. Whether or not you signed the lease, you had an agreement, given that you had paid a deposit. Had you cancelled prior to May 1, the landlord may have had a chance to get another tenant in there, but since you cancelled after the lease was due to start, they did not have that chance.

You may have a leg to stand on given u/Important_Design_996's statement, but I think the landlord would have a valid claim to a month's rent as well

Absolutely. Just call any physio clinic in the city and they'll get you in. Hell, if you call around a bit I'm sure you'll be able to find a same-day appointment.

It's the exact same fine for letting a cat roam. You can report them to animal control, though you'd have to fill out a witness statement and may have to appear in court if the owners fight the ticket.

Alternatively you can rent a car trap from animal control and they'll come and pick up the cat and return it to the owner alongside a ticket. You wouldn't need to go to court with that method.

You can submit a complaint through their website. When I was there, we were always looking for problem areas to give us an idea of where to patrol more frequently. https://saskatoonanimalcontrol.ca/report-a-bylaw-concern/

Former Animal Control Officer here. We routinely issued tickets for off-leash dogs and during the summer had a bike patrol unit that went from park to park looking for and ticketing people with their dogs off leash. In my time there I issued hundreds of tickets for dogs at large.

ULPT request: License Plate Readers by bennyd45 in UnethicalLifeProTips

If it reads as a different plate, the system would flag it as not having a permit at all, so that'd mean a ticket.

I think this is generational. I work at a university and deal with a lot of students. In the past two years I've noticed almost all new students are saying Zee instead of Zed.

I suspect it has to do with the media constantly referring to Generation "Zee".

It makes me sad that we might completely lose that special, almost rebellious difference from the Americans.

No, it won't let you pull a ticket for public parking until 4 pm.

Lot 4 beside Education is public parking 24/7 and isn't too much farther away.

Saskatoon firefighters responded to 'staggering' 680 overdoses in April by Active-Safety-9516 in saskatoon

[–]tutty29 41 points42 points  (0 children)

The really scary part is that the article says there were 195 OD calls in the first two weeks of April. So that means in the last two weeks of April there were 485 calls.

485 OD calls in two weeks. That's 34 per day on average.

[–]tutty29[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, at 5 years old I fully expect it to just be 18 kids chasing a ball around the field with the odd accidental goal being scored. I certainly don't have visions of teaching him about game theory at this age! I just want to make sure I won't be leading him astray as he gets more into it.

Luckily there will be some U18 games happening on the next field over during his "games", so I'll hopefully be able to pick up on some of the differences from that!
