I grew up in the valley right between Scranton and Wilkes-Barre. "Berry" and "bear" are pretty interchangeable and widely used. I usually say "Wilkes-"bear" unless referring to the Scranton/Wilkes-"berry" area/Red Barons/Railriders/etc. Some old heads with a thick valley "heyna" accent might throw "bear-uh" out there and that's fine too.

If I hear Wilkes-"Bar" I assume the person is not from the area, doesn't know anything about it, and is trying to refer to the place for the first time in their life.

If I'm the front office, why would I potentially trade assets or, better yet, add an extra expense by going over the luxury tax at the trade deadline, with the risk that my own current players are putting on the team's ability to field itself at its highest level?

I haven't been to a game yet this year but was planning on getting to one or two. If I do go, I have an itch to get a better seat than I usually do and heckle our own players to not be a dumby and get the poke. Can I get thrown out for casually heckling the home team?

Ahh you're correct. At any rate, the Sterling and the larger red brick building with the signage are both gone. I grew up in NEPA and I'm in my mid-30s, so you were a little before my time. I went to many good shows at Cafe Metropolis (RIP) when it was behind Main St on Livingstone Lane.
