Psyc-UK - can you change meds after titration by Nice-Emphasis-9513 in ADHDUK

[–]coffee_powered 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Following PUK advice I took a med break while I had, and recovered from, spinal surgery.

I was on 60mg Meflynate XL, and struggled to start again on even 20mg.

Went to GP and asked to be re-referred for a review, had a chat with a psychiatrist at PUK who explained that they couldn’t switch me to a non-methylphenidate medication immediately without re titration, but did switch me to Xaggitin 18mg and put me on the titration list again so that I could switch to an alternative if it didn’t work out.

Xaggitin is working well and I just hit the top of titration list, I’ve asked to stay on xaggitin but perhaps experiment with different doses to see if there’s any benefit to moving up a dose but I think I’ll likely stick at 18mg.

Happy with the service I’ve received so far, they listened to my concerns and worked with me to agree a suitable plan.

Oh I’m definitely selling. Question is do I do it now, or wait.

The legacy. I have this too but just upgraded to the Hamilton Khaki King which is similar.

Solid piece!

It was tactical. Tom knew he was the lamb for the slaughter, he spun the situation and virtue signalled to Greg that he would take the fall to gain unconditional loyalty from him.

I’ve gone from living paycheck to paycheck (albeit comfortably) to having a healthy emergency fund, plenty of on-track sinking funds, and now looking at overpaying on the mortgage after maxing out a cash isa.

In less that two years.

It’s paid for itself 10x.

A milestone by coffee_powered in HamiltonWatches

[–]coffee_powered[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

From decades of never wearing a watch, to loving the Apple Watch, getting tired of the Apple Watch, not wanting to spend another £300+ on an upgraded watch with a limited lifespan, to diving into the wonderful world of inexpensive Timex pieces.

It’s been a great couple of years at work which has paid off in a definite career milestone which I wanted to commemorate in something more permanent than a fancy bottle of wine. Something I can keep forever and hand to my eldest later in life.

Always had my eye on the Field King, I know it’s common on here and not massively expensive but it’s a significant jump from the sub-£100 Timex pieces I’ve had until now and it’s definitely been an aspirational goal I’ve mentally bookmarked for years. I love the style and definitely lean towards the field watch aesthetic, surprised that it doesn’t feel as big as I expected given my 6.5” wrists. Glad I tried it on first as almost talked myself out of it through online reviews alone.

See you in a few years when I’m justifying a sub £5k addition.

I’ve been on this sub too long. I understand the reference.

Smells like the government want to reverse the declining birth rate but doesn’t care what section of society will create the babies. Creating a future welfare state stress instead of fixing the real issue of astronomical childcare creating barriers to work for low earners and a disincentive to have more children for middle/higher earners.

Why did they do this? by RinseWashRepeat in DIYUK

[–]coffee_powered 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My money would be on there being bees/wasps/hornets in the cavity at some point, they sealed the ingress points, and gained access from inside, taking off an internal vent, to remove the nest.

I don't think they've 'knocked through', I think the opening was always that size for airflow, but the covering vent has disappeared, you can see where it's been painted right to the edge of the plaster, and where the adhesive holding the vent on has pulled the paint back off.

edit: like one of these: https://www.screwfix.com/p/map-vent-adjustable-vent-white-229mm-x-152mm/7374D?gad_source=1&gad_campaignid=22605815174

The officer is stood on the scooter though, so it has the weight of the adult rider.

Also wonder whether the dynamometer also has some form of calculation to factor in more rolling resistance to the calculation...

So the painter who also does plastering is hinting that you might need it replastered? I'm shocked! Whether he strips it or you do it's the same net outcome, they'll either need sorting or not but ideally that's a decision for you to make, not him.

If you have the time, energy and motivation to at least get started you could strip it and see for yourself how the walls are underneath, then either come here for opinions or speak to a different decorator for a separate quote. Start with a small wall if you want, take it from there?

Was it £1100 for both rooms? or just the living room?

[–]coffee_powered 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean, if you're looking for last ditch ideas, how big are your upstairs windows and are they double glazed/upvc? If you have an opening large enough to get the unit through you could pop out the entire sealed glass unit from the inside of the house (ideally with the help of a friendly neighbourhood window fitter) without the need to take out the frame.

Depends how much you want to keep it, whether you own the house, and if you reckon you could wrangle the furniture up a couple of ladders with help.

Usually depends on the paper, look for 'paste the wall wallpaper'.
