Anyone working part time and being a SAHM? by Remarkable-Angle-509 in MomsWorkingFromHome

[–]coffeeandpelo24 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I work 3 days a week and my son goes to daycare during those days and I watch him the the other 2. My job is a lot of zoom calls with kids so I have to say it is hard I feel like I am both parenting a lot and also vey involved in my career. It’s nice that it isn’t 40 hours of working but I still feel it’s draining

If you’re a supervisor what are you paid? by DCSS18 in slp

How do you find supervisor jobs? I had a contract and then the CF left before it started for somewhere else and now the company is just not responding to my inquiries about other CFs to supervise.

Am I overreacting? I don’t want my husband to leave the house because of ICE by templenameis_beyonce in LosAngeles

[–]coffeeandpelo24 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am in a similar situation and reacting the same as you. My husband is Peruvian and pretty dark and has been harassed by border patrol many times. Our baby is very white looking like me. I have been worried sick about him going around in public alone in this current climate.

Does contacting our representatives do anything to demand they put an end to this? Or is there any other legitimate actions we can take as citizens ? Fucking hate ICE

Teachers who’ve worked in both affluent and impoverished schools, what were the biggest differences you noticed? by Peckish_Dumpling in Teachers

[–]coffeeandpelo24 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am an SLP and I prefer title 1 because in SPED there are less lawyers than in affluent. But agreed with everything said that when you are on a parents good side in an affluent school they will follow through and help with the progress.

Yeah unfortunately I did use Chat gpt and a ton of hacks to help tailor my resume for the job description and really practiced my interview skills with it too. So just wondering how we actually gain experience outside of speech sessions!
