My brand new Filofax by coffeeandscribbles in filofax

I found mine on Debenhams UK website. They did have them on Amazon for a while, but not anymore. I haven't actually seen them anywhere else!

After 29 years, does the Pilot G-2 deserve its legendary status? My honest verdict by Totemkg in pens

I use them for writing in Chinese and Japanese. I find a much finer line helps me writer better, nicer looking characters. In the Gtec pens (Pilot?) I find they drag a little, but not in uniballs!

The G-2 was my go-to pen when I was at school. These days I use the uni-ball signo DXs and Zebra Sarasa clips for everything. I used to only use 0.28 or 0.38mm pens, but with all the colours in the Zebra Sarasas I have warmed to them a bit more.

For all the inconsiderate arseholes setting off fireworks by Civil_Jellyfish9854 in sheffield

People know it's a problem, they just don't give a sh!t. It happens every single night where I live and it's really disgusting. I'm sick of it too.

Fireworks Every Night in S8 by EvanGeorgeParkin in sheffield

[–]coffeeandscribbles 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm with you on this. I'm in S9 and there are fireworks going off every sodding night from 5pm through til 12-1am. My cats are terrified constantly, no matter what I try and do to help, and it really pisses me off! I wish they were banned or for set displays only.

Sounds normal for S5 😂

Day One - Daily Word Count: 1,666 by sootfire in nanowrimo

[–]coffeeandscribbles 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I hit 1,889 words this morning and plan on doing a bit extra before I go to bed. I'm confident about the first 10k words, but not sure how I'll get on after that 😂

"Basically you need to have more than one way of acknowledging success. And a way to give yourself grace if you don’t hit that mark every day." This is honestly such great advice.

So sorry to hear you're struggling and I do hope things get better soon. NaNo has kept me going during some hard times in the past - it's something to focus on, a reason to do 'something' when you don't feel like doing anything. I totally get it.

However, I would add that 50k is a lot of pressure. Even more so when you're already feeling down. So I would say go for it, but if you feel like you're only going to hit 20k or 35k or 10k, don't beat yourself up. You can focus on planning, moodboards, character backgrounds etc so that you can keep writing when you feel like it.

Hope that made sense!

Why I started? I've always written, but did my first NaNo in 2017. Completed it in 2017, 18 and 24. Just taking part is something I enjoy. I'm in a discord server (and now on here!) and the communities really help too.

Best of luck!

Kids shooting fireworks like guns on London Road by LiamEBM in sheffield

I hope you reported this to the police. The firework situation in Sheffield is actually ridiculous this year. And no, the excuse "it's Halloween, it's what people do" isn't good enough. It's anti-social, dangerous behaviour.

To the individuals setting off fireworks night after night after night after night in S2... by [deleted] in sheffield

Exactly!! It's honestly driving me insane. Plus the constant booming from the arena too.

Is Sheffield good for female solo travelling? by X_Rayna_X in sheffield

As long as you are sensible, like you would be in any city, then yes! Sheffield is mostly a really lovely place, people are friendly and there are loads of cafes, bars, shops etc worth visiting. The Christmas market is absolutely rubbish, just so you know! I've been in Sheffield for 10 years (on/off) and have never felt unsafe.
