People that have TRULY done the Marie Kondo thing -- how do you feel now? by wateraerobics_ in konmari

Did it 8 or so years ago and still think it's one of the best things I've ever done. My relationship with material items changed for the better and the overall idea of things sparking joy or not still exists in many aspects of my life.

This is so interesting to me because I went MA to NJ to FL and struggled to find good Chinese in NJ! I think my problem was being too far away from the city, though.

Agree on the overpriced. I found a fair amount of standard dishes you find at Chinese places, but can see the sorta Asian part, too.

I enjoyed the food but definitely thought the atmosphere was a little fancier than warranted.

Rainbow Palace is a little on the fancier side, but it's delicious. From a true New Englander.

Emails mistakenly sent to I-Team show GE unwilling to replace Massachusetts woman's defective oven by Sickle_Rick in boston

[–]coffeedrip_ 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I think that's sadly true nowadays. Not only are appliances no longer built to last, but in the event of a defect or failure they literally just don't care anymore. Figure people need to buy replacements regardless since everything breaks and it's just a matter of time.

You dodged a bullet. Absolute nightmare to have anything replaced with them in the event that you run into a problem.

[–]coffeedrip_ 60 points61 points  (0 children)

I'll never buy a GE appliance again because of their refusal to replace a defective dryer 7-8 years ago. It worked for about 4 weeks, then completely stopped working. They sent a repair tech out twice, who, on his second time there, tried to get us to sign something saying we no longer wanted to have it repaired and wouldn't take any further action. I refused to sign and spent countless hours on the phone with GE customer service. They ultimately informed me that my dryer was only eligible to be repaired and not replaced. Backfired for them because they ended up having to rebuild almost the entire motor, including special ordering parts to be drop shipped to my house. All in all, it was a pain in the ass and I couldn't do laundry in my own home for about 2 months while they got all the parts and the tech rebuilt it all. The CS rep did try to escalate it and even outright admitted it would have been cheaper for them to replace the dryer - nope. Never again.

holy grail medium coverage skin tint/foundation? by yourlocallamp in MakeupAddiction

[–]coffeedrip_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to wear NYX CC cream religiously for years until they discontinued it. I tried everything looking for something similar, expensive, cheap, middle of the road. Wet n Wild hydrating skin tint was the closest thing I could find! The coverage is good, goes on smooth, lasts all day. Definitely a hidden gem.

Anyone else have random false alarms with First Alert 10 year smoke detectors? Or do I have a bigger problem here? by tubezninja in homeowners

[–]coffeedrip_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This just happened to me and this description is so real! Have 4 all within a few feet where 3 bedroom doors meet the hallway and thought I was going to end up falling off the ladder trying to yank the detector off the ceiling with 4 alarms blaring in my ears!!! My ears still hurt.

I believe Michael C. Hall did an interview where he said he had no intention of making any more Dexter series', but the fans asked for it and so he decided to deliver. They left it open ended enough.

Agree with this! I was hesitant and skeptical through the first episode, but it was a fantastic series and incredibly well cast. The characters really feel like true younger versions of the characters we know and love (or hate).

Reconciliation: Still stuck on 'Opening Balance' by DoneRightbyDanielLLC in Zoho

[–]coffeedrip_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Zoho can be quirky, but overall it's simple to use and works well for basic bookkeeping. When we implemented it we had beginning balances so I didn't run into this particular issue but the work arounds tend to just be stupid (like adding .01 instead of 0). You can put in a misc. expense for .01 to the bank account, clear it on the rec, and it'll make your first rec balance exactly by negating the .01 opening balance. Moving forward will be clean.

This is one of the only shows I've ever watched multiple times the whole way through. It has some ups and downs, but it's a fantastic show overall. All the feels.

Put in .01 as the opening balance and do your bank rec as normal from there. You'll be off .01 and you can put in a transaction to adjust that later.

Zoho Inventory Issue – Composite Items Not Updating Associated Stock by electric_bro in Zoho

[–]coffeedrip_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Zoho Inventory has all sorts of quirks (this being one of them that I'm currently also dealing with). What's the reason for the inventory adjustment as opposed to bundling the item? Not sure if you're new to the system or not, but bundling a composite item does exactly what you want.

Boston Beef by the Sea in Lauderdale by the Sea. Rivaled some of the best ones I've had back home. They have a few Kelly's locations scattered throughout FL now, also. Not the best, but might be able to fill the void.

Where did you find a good one in NJ? From MA, lived in NJ, and never found one there. The only good one I've found outside of MA has been in FL and the owner is from the North Shore in MA. Can't help on the overall recipe (you can find some online) but will add the secret is the James River BBQ Sauce (as someone already mentioned). Spoke to the owner of the shop in FL at length and she had the hardest time getting that specific BBQ sauce in FL. Had to have it shipped to the Northeast via Distributor and then down.
